DeBrusk has aucked for a while now, Stud and Vaak max out as 3rd liner and 3rd pair D, and that first is late.

Gaveikov is also good and cheap for 2 years.

Bruins. It's not even close, Gavrikov is good but he is a 2nd pair D and there are other options.

It’s a massive overpayment.

Debrusk straight up. 1st straight up. Is about max value. Boston won’t do the 1st.

Gavrikov is an ok 2nd pair. Not a stud.

Debrusk sucked this year. That’s pretty much it. He had 19 goals in a shortened season the year before. There’s no reason to say that studnicka or vaakanainen max out at anything, or bottom out at anything.

This is a hard no. Neely probably wants to get bigger on the left side, but he probably wants the guy to be better.

I disagree TBH but respect your answer. I think a 1st at least is imperative for Gavy

You can disagree all you want, Boston is not giving up a 1st for mid level dman. The rest is overkill.

Blues fans have offered Dunn for Debrusk. Avs offered Graves. Rather have either of them over Gavy and those were straight up hockey trades. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also - Despite Debrusk being "awful for a while now" and a 5 goal season, he is still averaging 22.5 goals per 82gp. You realize this is the deal for Jones, right?

So Gav is good and cheap for 2 years, but you're willing to move him for (in your opinion)......

A guy whose sucked for a while
a depth player
late 1st

I'd think if he was good you could get more than a guy who sucks, a depth player and a late 1st, no?

you overrate him he plays 2nd line minutes on one of the worst current defences, there is about atleast 4 better LHD in free agency not to mention if any one of those assets are being moved it will be for a solidified top pairing LHD dman, he is also isn't that big, 6'1 213 isn't some big shut down guy i think bruins are looking for someone more in the 6'3+ range. plus he had 69 hits in 55 games that doesn't scream much physicality which bruins need i think their was about 3-4 defenceman who out hit him still on boston. plus his 77 blocked shots isn't anything to ride home on either. I want nothing to do with gavrikov unless it require less then a first and definitely not adding debrusk stud or vaak

Yeah about 25 teams would outbid us for Jones then

One of the more frustrating things that can happen in these sorts of trade discussions is when someone opts to propose that another team trade for their player at the price which their team would want for said player, while ignoring said player's value relative to the rest of the market.

Usually we're on the receiving end. For this one, we're on the giving end.

We don't have any particular motivation to move Gavrikov, so trading him would necessitate some kind of overpayment - but you can't just go around and start actively soliciting those kinds of overpayments. It's not cricket.

Not sure about that. Coming off an (two, really) awful season with a very defensive coach. One year left before becoming UFA, a partial NTC and a rather decent pay raise who can dictate where they play in 12 months.

Also - a real Bruins trade for Jones would likely be Carlo and Debrusk.

Team control and asset management are very important with the flat cap. If we are talking about a team that he wants to play for moving forward with an extension in place, then he would get a lot more.

This isn't even remotely close to equal value on the Bruins end. I'd rather have Seth Jones for a year and hope to resign him or Forsberg at the deadline.
