Finally an EDM ACGM that gives a good package to dump Neal. Detroit accepts.

Every day Foegele's rights get cheaper. I don't really know what he is worth, but I would hope we get more than a 3rd-4th pick swap for him

I think a 2nd-4th swap or a 3rd straight up is fine

Seriously? One good prospect, two 5th round prospects and a 7th round pick? That's a good package?

because we desparately need depth and Foegele is likely going to be exposed in the expansion draft. Better get something for Foegele before the expansion draft than nothing

Wings pass on that garbage. It will hurt a little bit if you want to dump Neal, Wings aren't interested in doing charity work for your modest return

So because the Oilers desperately need depth the canes will want to trade him to you?

Hey Lavoie has some really good potential. Actually, this idea was told to me by a Wings fan too. All of those young guys have some really good potential in the team.

No, I did. It's wrong, so I didn't bother. Teams aren't going to trade good players on the off chance they may get selected.

Yes they lol get something I return for the better player they may lose, leave Seattle no choice to pick the player with less value, actually pretty smart, only an idiot wouldn't try it or think it wouldn't happen

Everyone thought that would happen before the Vegas draft and nobody did.

Nice Gangs of NY quote! Lavoie is a good prospect, but him alone doesn't make that trade worth it.

I don’t see Yzerman trading cap space for depth pieces he didn’t select. Holloway, Broberg, and Bouchard cost too much & won’t be moved for a cap dump. So that really leaves picks (eg 1st+).

For Detroit it is a good package.

Lavoie is a good prospect that plays in a position of need. The 5th rounders are quite a bit better than their draft positions and play in positions where Detroit have very few prospects of their own. All the prospects coming back are waiver exempt which gives Detroit time to let them play in GR where there's a huge deficit of players with any upside. Detroit doesn't need more 2nd/3rd/4th round picks, they're much better served by players that will take one or two years before it's known whether they're any good than by a draft pick where it takes 4 or 5 years to find out.

Detroit is starting to come out of the rebuild and could be looking at making the playoffs as early as in two years time with a bit of luck. This package is exactly what is needed to support the needs we have in the near future.

That was me.

This is a good Deal for Detroit, regardless of what anyone tells you.

It fits in very well with where we are in the rebuild and bolsters positions where we are lacking prospects.
Maybe not all of the players pan out but if only one of them do he will do so at the exact time when he's needed, and if two of them make it then it's a huge win for us.
