Anaheim isn't going to trade a younger forward we would protect in the expansion draft for an older one you won't, let alone add a depth defenseman.

Pionk is the Jets best defenseman. I can't see them downgrading an already suspect defensive group.

Toronto is the only team accepting any of these deals.

You seem to like a lot of trades that would be objectively bad for the Leafs.

I don't think they even consider a single one of them for a moment.

I'd keep Andersen at 2.5 million just doubt he's gonna accept half what he made last year.

That’s my trade and it was a trade I’d make based on what I had done in the rest of the AGM. Kerfoot would play on a shut down line with Lundestrom and Silfverberg.

I should point out that I’m not high on Jones. I feel like if he was going to take a significant step it would have come by now. At this point he’s a #9 fwd in my mind. As for Larsson, Eakins has ruined his development and I doubt he’ll be QOd when he’s due.

But I did ask for suggestions for a LW that would fit on a shutdown line but might still have some ability score that didn’t cost much more than Jones and Larsson.

I'l admit I'm a little more hopeful about Jones AND Larsson than our colleagues. My feeling about Kerfoot is that we can ask Seattle to select him and then pay the Kraken a third for him. I don't think he's worth more than that.

But you absolutely be right about forming a shut-down line with him. I just don't think of him that way.

I know who pionk is to the Jets, but the Jets are weird and do odd things

What odd things in terms of trades? They still won't be downgrading their defense for that package.

Who says they don't sign Hamilton with the savings they just acquired

So you don't have any examples of the "odd things" you claimed. Ok Boomer125

Mis using Laine to the point he whined his way out to acquire Dubios (because his daddy in the organization) isn't a little weird) acquiring Kevin Hayes for a playoff run to a few weeks later being forced to move Trouba for their own pick and pionk isn't a little weird. I'm not claiming any of these trades as bad ideas but it is a little weird in the way the organization is kind of forced into deals because players don't want to live and play in Winnipeg. That's what I mean by weird odd things. Also the trade I proposed provides a stable 3/4 dman with a little term on a more than reasonable cap hit and certainly value at a million cash per year along with a cost controlled top 6 potential prospect with about 6 - 7 years of control.

Lets go through all of those so-called examples:
- Laine's most frequent centreman in his last full season was Scheifele.
- Laine wanted out plus the Jets weren't going to pay his rumorued $9 - $10 million pre-COVID ask. So the Jets traded a RW for a C in the same draft class and Dubois has 1 more year of team control.
- Hayes was a deadline deal acquisition on an expiring contract. Teams do that.
- Trouba wanted out for several years, as his (now) wife wanted to practice medicine in the US. Jets were given a list of one team to trade to and got Pionk and a 1st which has worked out very well.
- Winnipeg is a city that is always shows up on no-trade lists because it is not a great place to be in the winter. That has been true forever and is neither odd nor weird, it just is.

Regarding the trade idea, the Jets give up their best defenseman (who is still under team control), for a defenseman who is not as good as the one they are losing plus futures. For a team that wants to make a deeper push into the playoffs, that doesn't make sense. I bet Holl has Winnipeg on his no-trade list too.

Cool, so you don't think the Jets are weird and I do, I'm well aware of the probability of this trade, but I still like it

Cool we agree to disagree. I don't believe it is good for the Jets and Holl likely has Winnipeg on his no trade list so it is unlikely to happen in any event.
