There is ZERO chance the Devils would get Bear PLUS a pick.

Subban's market value is probably STILL below the $6MM that this trade would bring him to, so he has negative value.

Bear is an upcoming 2-way defenseman who has positive results again elite competition.

3- Ostensibly, something that can help either now or soonish at a position of need (i.e. not LD or G, and probably not C, but hey you can really never have too many of those) and/or doesn't bring too much cap hit back. Devils would likely eat as much salary as they could on that....so Subban at $4.5m AAV for 1-year (and only $1m real money).
I only bring this up since it was a Blues beat reporter that broke the news that Devils are shopping Subban around (Strickland).

Evolving Wild has average $ at $5.2 million for Subban if he were a free agent today.
So, yes, at $9 million, he does not return a lot.
But at $6 million, I think he could get maybe a mid-pick and/or lesser prospect.

Subban at 50% ($4.5 million) for Bear....(without the 2nd)...is probably sometime Devils would be happy with.

2- Absolutely not. Less than zero chance. Parayko and Faulk already eat up 46-48 RD minutes per night, and Krug owns PP1. This does nothing for the Blues, and not just because it's bad value for giving up a goal scorer and enough of a cap hit to stymie other moves that are actually necessary.
