What’s funny is Lou is actually having arguably the best offseason among GMs -In a flat cap he:
1. Traded a cap dump for a 2nd. Used that 2nd to draft Raty
2. Traded 2 years of Andrew Ladd and only had to give up two late 2nds (Dubas had to give a 1st rd pick to give up 1 year of Marleau)
3. Signed his star #1 D for 2-3 mill under market value. He’s better than Jones, Werenski, Nurse who all got more than him.

Who on the isles is making 5+ that isn’t worth it? You should stop spewing lies , cite the source 5 mill x 6 or stfu

Its too quiet around Eichel and no clarity in which team whos actually in the race for him... Every insider is talking about how a trade most certainly will happen before start of training camp... but all we hear is that teams who recently been in on him no longer are. Rangers, Kings, Minnesota, Anaheim etcetera... Watch Lou trade for him.

Eberle is so bad that Seattle willingly selected him. Bailey is a 50+ pt player who has been a .8 PPG in the playoffs over the last two seasons. Martin has a 1.5 mill AAV.

The islanders bad contracts all expire next year. Hickey, Komarov, clutterbuck. The isles have no bad long term contracts on the roster. Lou got rid of Ladd, forced boychuk to retire, and traded his worst defenseman for a 2nd rd pick.

Well, we’ll see about that. But as of now, he’s having a great offseason. I imagine part of the reason they haven’t announced much yet is because they’re evaluating their present and future situations and figuring out how everything is going to fit, which I appreciate.

The truth is, if you want to win in the present, you have to sacrifice some of the future. Sometimes that’s young players and draft picks, sometimes it’s cap space. I don’t agree with everything Lou has done since coming here, but given the direction he’s put us on, I’m really hopeful for the short term future he helped build
