This is a top tier #1 centre here, coming with an extension. The rangers will want much much more than that

Sorry just curious who Robertson is? No shade I genuinely don't know.

As for the idea, its very interesting and would shove the Bruins' window open a bit longer while filling the DK void. I think the biggest stumbling block here is that Buffalo needs to, and should, get NHL roster players back in addition to DeBrusk. Not sure if that comes from NYR or Boston, but I think that needs to happen for them to say yes. Maybe John Moore finds his way there if he's healthy, maybe one of Zboril/Studnicka/Senyshyn, or from NYR maybe someone like Strome?

You mean like keeping him at that extension? He’s asking for 10Mx8YR so if the extension is 8Mx7YR we probably wouldn’t move him

Lets see if I got this right. The Rangers give up Mika (who is as good as or better than Eichel) AND they retain part of his salary just to get Jack Eichel and his busted spine? LOL. Yeah.....NO THANKS. Plus you think Mika is then going to sign for $8 million a year when he can get more everywhere else, including from the Rangers.

So buffalo gets debrusk, 2 late firsts, and a left handed defenseman that they don't need, oh and a second, for eichel and 1.5 million retained? That's what you're saying here?

Matthew Robertson is a LHD, big and physical. He’s likely in our long term plan to be a Nemeth like player but I’m sure we trade off prospects when it comes to superstar additions

Yeah anything under $9 mil is guaranteed to be offered by the Rangers.

You can make those 2nd rounders 1st if you want to, I think that makes more sense. I had it like that first but changed it. Also Rangers 1st isn't a late 1st. We don't know if they would be making the playoffs. They could miss you know. Caps, Pens, Canes and Isles are making it so they could miss it. Make it another 1st from Boston and i think it is fine. Rangers are already giving up much

Only counterpoint I'd make is that Boston is one of the few places (Tampa and maybe Toronto or the Islanders) that players definitely take discounts to play in because they think they have a chance of winning. Agreed though that the Rangers will want to retain him barring a super high price.

I mean I guess, but I’d argue the Rangers have better chance to win over the next decade than the Bruins. The Bruins have maybe 2-3 years left, while we’re poised to start contending then.

Pick a forward for Robertson. We have two recent first overall picks in our organization that are left d, plus 3 of our top prospects. We don't have enough forwards. We are set on left d.

The rangers would not want a 1st and a 2nd for their 1st line centre coming with an extension. They’d keep him at a 8x7 extension tho I agree

Im sorry but Mika is definitely not as good as Eichel. That's all, not arguing your view on the trade or anything, just healthy Eichel is undoubtedly better than Zib

The difference between broken Eichel and healthy Zibanejad is not a 1st, 2nd, and Top 4 D prospect.

I think Mika's next deal will be based around whatever Couts gets

Agreed but alot of Rangers fans (not you specifically) are acting like he won't recover from his injury. Even if he's not 100% once he recovers, I still would have him over Zibanejad

I honestly can’t wait to see him come back fully healthy cause the dude is dynamic. I get the nhl tv package every year cause I’m a big fan of Tampa as well (Rangers south in my heart), but I love watching the young stars across the league whether that means McDavid or Matthews. Or MacKinnon, Eichel and Tkachuk. I love the Rangers and Tampa, but hockey is better to watch and more entertaining to me when guys are healthy and playing to the best of their ability. More than anything, I don’t know what’s wrong with his neck, I just hope he gets better.

How so? Their stats are similar and Mika scores more goals. Plus Mika is a top flight penalty killer and better in the face off circle and better defensively.......so tell me....how is Jack better?

Fyi, you don't need to get the NHLTV package. You could watch any game for free on online streams

I’ve always had spotty luck with that so I normally used to grab it with my college discount. But I finished school and it’s going to espn now so, I just have to switch Hulu plans. Appreciate it though.
