5 years of 3.5 mil in retention would cost a hell of a lot more than that.

A late 1st to eat 17 million dollars isn't gonna do it.

laugh laugh Yeah right, Detroit retains $3,250,000 x 5 on Jack Eichel for a lousy 2023 late Vegas 1st round pick. I don't think so shakes head Would cost far more then this.

Thats a steal for Vegas, 2 also-ran middle 6 forwards (1 thats UFA), a 4th liner prospect and a C level d prospect that wouldnt have a shot at their roster

Buffalo retains $3,500,000 x 5 and gets 8 pieces, Detroit retains $3,250,000 x 5 and gets one lousy 2023 1st round pick. You obviously no nothing about trade values?

Vegas declines, Vegas is getting Eichel for under $4,000,000. Detroit is the one that would decline. We retain $250,000 x 5 less then Buffalo they get 8 pieces and we get 1 lousy late 2023 1st round pick. The trades a joke for Detroit retaining $16,250,000 for 5 years is worth more then 1 lousy 2023 1st round pick.

Closer to a ripoff than a steal…the other way. Stop acting like Eichel is one of the 5 best to ever play the game. He’s not even top 5 at his position today. Then there is the neck. Any team gives up more than 3 premium pieces and 4 overall going to regret it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Eichel is worth more than a couple plugs. His neck is fine

It isn’t. And there are 3 high end pieces 3 b pieces and a quality top 6 player that can be flipped at the deadline for 2 more quality pieces.

My god this is awful. Im just gonna throw my conversion, based on my own values, out there- a first costs about 5 million dollars. If you want somebody to pay 10 million, the cost should be about 2 firsts. Plus im not even sure theres enough value coming to buffalo without retention.

The firsts arent even high end pieces when theyll be 31st and 32nd overall. 5 years ago those were 2nd rounders. There are 0 high end pieces

You have no idea what those picks wiil be. People would have gladly taken Montreals first pick over Vancouver, Calgary, or Phiily last offseason and yet…. We can assume, and the west does suck, but 31 and 32 is pretty generous to Vegas. They should be later picks, that late, doubtful. And who says you have to use them.

You have no idea how prospects will turn out either. A couple of years ago had Philly offered up a 1st/Patrick/Frost for a first liner it would have seemed like a really good package. Now, not so much. Meanwhile some guy picked in the 3rd round that you scoff at could become a stud.

The next couple of drafts are pretty deep as well.

Adams is holding out for what he wants, and he should, but it’s a dangerous game of chicken as the number of teams that can take his cap hit, want him, and willing to pay Buffalos price seem to be nonexistent.
