3 Way Deal for Eichel

Created by: TampaBayFan94
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 15, 2021
Published: Aug. 15, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
They Should have a 3 way trade setting already:

Trade is:

Detroit Receives :

Mittelstadt, Florida 2022 1st (From Buffalo), Retains 3,000,000 of Eichel Contract

NYR Receive:

Eichel, Detroit 2022 2nd

Buffalo Receives:

Strome, Kravtsov, NYR 2022 1st & 2nd, 2023 1st

Eichel is my opinion is high risk, with the surgery he is getting the procedure is either fusing his spine together and he will lose movement (injury prone for sure) or the disk replacement it’s nasty it’s basically removing your upper neck vertebrae and putting plastic ones in, idk how you can play contact sports after that

No way Buffalo is trading 1st rounders. They are going into another rebuild and need as many as possible

For Detroit’s breakdown.

Takes a retention slot for 5 years and costs 15M in cap & cash. The return is the marginal upgrade from Detroit’s second rounder to Florida’s first rounder + Mittlestadt. For reference, in deadcap situations like this Marleau was 6.25 cap & ~3.9M cash and returned a first. In short this is a bad deal for them.

I don't see Buffalo trading Mittelstadt at least not before the season starts.

This is really bad on multiple levels. Really bad deal for Buffalo and a horrible return for Detroit.

One of the worst trades I've ever seen for buffalo. We retain 3 million and have to add mittelstadt and a very likely top 5 pick to get a garbage return. Go troll another fan base

Noway is Detroit eating $15,000,000 in dead money for 5 years on Jack Eichel for Mittelstadt and a late 1st round pick from Florida, This is horrendous for both Buffalo and Detroit.

BUF isn’t sending first rounders (or any high picks) or guys like Mittelstad and Detroit would require way more to eat that much cap and cash. Really poorly thought out.

Not only that, they're not trading Eichel then adding Mittelstadt and a 1st for arguably less than FMV for an injured Eichel. The deal is completely ridiculous.

This might be #1 though it's a fierce race. Buffalo is paying more for the retention on Eichel than NYR. Just think about that for a moment. Breathtaking.

This is awful. This is ballpark what a trade for eichel should look like, if the rangers need retention, they can pay the red wings for it. Why would buffalo pay for the retention?

Well, we dont retain the 15 million, the red wings do, but for some reason we are the ones paying for it.

I've seen Mittelstadt's name on several players who could break out this season.

Other Sabre fans are not impressed, but his last 22 games he had 17 pts with Asplund and Thompson as his primary line mates.
17 pts will not make anyone forget about Jack Eichel, but Granato seemed to bring out Casey's best.

He did finish strong and maybe he just needed to step out of Eichel's shadow.
