Huberdeau Hertl and Demers

Description
“Of course you're wondering if you're going to be able to play for Montreal. It's a beautiful city and that's where I come from. It has always been a dream to play for Montreal... but for now, I'm trying not to think about it. I'm in Florida and having fun there. I would really like to participate in a championship in Florida before maybe going to Montreal. ”-Huberdeau
Now, this got me thinking, with the Panthers not needing Bobrovsky; they will surely try their absolute hardest to get rid of him. We have Drouin... Obviously, he's not as good as a Huberdeau but he's still a really good top 6 player and if we agree to take Bobrovsky full price and throw in someone like Byron and a 1st, the trade might actually work. The Panthers clear $15,900,000 and would still have a Stanley cup contender lineup not to mention they add Drouin as a top 6 LW and Byron as a 3rd or 4th line winger and receive a 1st Round pick. The Canadiens get Huberdeau and then trade Bobrovsky to San Jose, a team that needs a goalie arguably more than anyone else in the league; in return, we get Hertl and their backup goalie, Adin Hill. Hill was originally traded to San Jose from Arizona because of expansion draft considerations for Josef Korenar and a 2nd round pick. We can trade Hill back to Arizona with a 3rd for Colorado's 1st round pick which is obviously going to be a lower pick, maybe even closer to 2nd if Colorado makes the finals as predicted by many.

MTL
  1. Bobrovsky, Sergei
  2. Huberdeau, Jonathan
Additional Details:
Panthers need to get rid of Bobrovsky, Huberdeau would be awesome in Montreal. I figure a 1st, Drouin, and a goalie prospect would be enough if we also take Bobrovsky and his $10mil cap hit. We also throw in Byron because he's a good depth player that the Panthers might actually find useful, we retain cap.
FLA
  1. Byron, Paul ($1,700,000 retained)
  2. Drouin, Jonathan
  3. Nissen Dichow, Frederik [Reserve List]
  4. 2022 1st round pick (MTL)
2.
SJS
  1. Belzile, Alex
  2. Bobrovsky, Sergei
  3. Kulak, Brett
  4. Lehkonen, Artturi
Additional Details:
The Sharks need an actual good goalie, I traded for Bobrovsky because the Panthers don't need him anymore now that they have Knight. Bobrovsky was paid $10mil for a reason, sure, he didn't perform all that well in Florida but he's only been there for two years and he showed how good he is at his best when he was paying in Columbus. I'm sure the Sharks would do a lot better with a goalie like Bobrovsky in the net. In return, we receive the SHarks current backup; Adin Hill, and another Center; Tomas Hertl. We through in Kulak, Lehkonen, and Belzile for additional depth.

This deal does not come even close to Hertl. Just terrible. Nonsense trades all around.

Why wouldn't FLA just keep Huberdeau and trade Bob to SJS themselves if it's that easy?

So Bobrovsky gets you a super cheap Huberdeau because his value is low from not playing well and a massive contract?

Then, that same player who isn’t living up to their contact, has a chance at bouncing back so his value turns positive and gets you Hertl?

Because no one is taking Bob's horrendous contract for terrible inconsistent play

laugh laugh First off Bobrovsky isn't waiving his NMC for Montreal let alone San jose, And secondly that garbage doesn't even come close to getting Jonathon Huberdeau. Florida laugh and easily declines.

Habs lose: a stinking pile of average players
Habs gain: Excellent star players in their prime on good contracts.

Can we get any more unrealistic?

How did you perceive any of these trades as fair? Both FLA and SJ moves are complete disasters.

Nobody moves a 1st line forward to offload an unwanted contract. If it takes Huberdeau to get someone to take Bobrovsky, no way SJ trades Hertl for him. Even if they did, why go through Montreal? They can just do it directly.

SJ is going with Hill. Even if he doesn't work, I can't see them being interested in Bobrovsky at $10M.

I think the worst part however, is trading Hill back to Arizona for a 1st, when they just traded him to the Sharks for a 2nd.

Sorry, but while Huberdeau in Montreal would be awesome, it would take an arm and a leg, and the rest just doesn't make any sense.

My god is this garbage. How do you go from acquiring Huberdeau by using Bob as a cap dump to dumping Bob while getting assets back. Wouldn’t it be easier for Florida to trade Bob to SJS for Hertl themselves? Obviously this is a troll because this is completely awful and has no logic

This has got to me a troll right? Out of all the awful moves people make on Capfriendly, this probably tops them all so far…

I was thinking that.

Why does BOB waive 2x's I don't get all this ohh they'll waive ? These guys pay hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars for NMC'S to just say ahh sure I'll piss away the cash I gave up for it. F***ing ludicrous.

First of all it took a lot of mental energy to come up with this-far more than any GM has. Second this is suppose to be fun, you shouldn't be so offended by this.

Like, you do realize that after getting out from under Jones' terrible contract, trading the most popular Shark for another horrifyingly inconsistent goalie with an even worse contract would quite possibly cause the fanbase to riot, right?

We already have five godawful contracts that we're stuck with that eat up $41 million dollars, let's not make it six and go for $51 million instead.

This is what's wrong here. The teams doing these trades could just do them without the middle man of MTL. Nobody gets Huby and Hertl for... that.
