First of all, The kings would be unbelievably dumb to make that Vegas trade. Goodness gracious, are we talking about Lehner and Martinez, or Mark Stone?
Second, Doughty might be overpaid, but he’s still miles and miles better than Burns.

Sharks don't touch that In a million years. Doughty is a bad contract which has significant negative value while Burns (while older) still actually has some positive value.

So for the improvement form Quick to Lehner and Edler to Martinez, we should pay the price of Turcotte, two firsts and a second?

Only if Mark Stone is included.

And Doughty >> Burns, when you factor in both on-ice performance and contract provisions.

Vegas frame makes no sense for either team. It’s an overpay for the kings but Vegas also isn’t downgrading at goalie and D for futures when they’re clearly all in

Doughty is an excellent player...when he wants to be. I’d also rather have Burns.

I'm not the one with the blinders on mate. I'll take Burns @4x8 all day every day over Doughty @6x11.

Despite what people who have watched approximately 0 Sharks games say, Burns is still actually good and an above replacement-level player. He has bad games here and there, but he's still solid for his age. Both the eye test and advanced stats back this up.

I'll concede Doughty definitely had a better season last year, but for the last few seasons he's been pretty dreadful considering his contract. Considerably worse than Burns. For a Sharks team who already has a worse Anchor than Doughty in Karlsson, this is terrible for us.
