Massive FLA decline. Marner makes more than all the FLA players combined and isnt even the best player in the deal. This one is easy.

Ah yes...the old "Team that is extremely close to the cap ceiling takes on almost $6 mil extra in cap (Putting them about $5 mil over) by trading 2 players that they recently extended and the player who finished 8th in Norris voting last year" trade.

Essentially, they give up 3 very good pieces to ultimately lose both Rielly and Barkov next season, because they likely wouldn't be able to afford to keep either.

Suddenly the Leafs have all this cap when they trade two players for three . Don't you see how impractical this trade for Florida in a cap strapped league?
