Awful for the Devils.

Kampf and Engvall won't make the forward core
Dermott wouldn't make the defense
Ritchie would be a 4th liner (basically what Wood is right now)
2nd doesn't make up the differnce

Minnesota has zero interest in trading Kaapo kahkonen. Also, tim isn't good, and still hasn't made even a 6d on a bad Toronto team. Justin is nothing more than a 6th d on wild, cap dump.

- Minnesota Goalie situation after Talbot, and Kaapo isn't good so Minnesota says no. Goalie prospects in AHL and recently drafted are years from being ready.

A neat AGM but I think it misses the mark in ways especially with the devils trade where Zacha has the combined upside of everyone else involved

The goal should be using Marner to acquire hotshot ELC guys and with the new contract for J-Rob the salary difference of the Dallas trade is only ~2M

Otherwise pretty nifty

Robertson isn’t available and we don’t have the long term cap for Marner. I could be talked into Guri plus for Nylander. I wouldn’t trade Robertson for Marner one for one when salary is considered

Stars definitely have the long term cap space for Marner. Take out Gurianov's upcoming contract (likely in the $4M range), add in an overpay for Klingberg of $9.5M, sign Oettinger & Robertson to their bridge deals (roughly $4M total), and Dallas still has somewhere in the ballpark of $13-15M in cap space next offseason & beyond. Get's a little tight for a year or two when Hintz gets his contract (still doable), but Dallas loses Benn's contract shortly after, freeing up his $9.5M in cap space.

Take into account the fact that the Cap is starting to go up next offseason, and Dallas has the cap space for Marner long term. It's THIS YEAR that Dallas would have to worry about. After this season, fitting him under the cap really isn't too difficult.

That being said, losing Gurianov AND Robertson would be tough, but passing up on a 24-year old who has been well over a PPG player for the last 3 years & is a PPG overall for his career is something I'm not sure I'd be willing to do.
