I've never seen anyone link him to Dallas and what a package they are sending but Dallas has a good defensive depth and now their top 9 looks lethal. I mean...Why not? If im Buffalo im doing it. 3 1st rounders is very good and Holtby should just get flipped for a pick with salary retained if it is needed. Also they get a Gurianov that could score 30 goals and be a solid top 6 guy to have. I like it because it is different

I definitely like that it's different, it's just that it's too much (IMO). Think if there were a few less picks it'd be in the realm of possibility though!

I feel like long term we should be getting Segs into the deal. He won’t have much value in the deal, but we get rid of a chunk of long term cap and they get a guy that can still play 1C to take some of the load off Stadt and Cozens right now while still adding the future assets in the first round picks

Its different, but the age in that top 6: benn, radulov, pavelski, seguin...ooooof. (remember dealing all those picks severely limits the quality youth coming in to replace those older guys)

Three 1sts and 2 2nds is way too much. Theres some nice players there, (IMO Buffalo needs some nice short-term vets to assist the kids), but those players and just 2 1sts and 1 2nd is probably closer.

Add in the Eichel saga over the CBA and his injury and I dont think BUF can get anything near that offer

Holtby was literally just bought out, why do you think he's all of a sudden worth something

I don't know but somehow, some way...Philly paid Martin Jones 2 mil right after being bought out. This league man.

Any Buffalo fan who would object to any part of that trade needs to see a therapist, that offer is over the top.
Faksa, cost controlled center signed for the next four years
Holtby, Veteran GK, could spend time in Buffalo or Rochester helping UPL develop his game
Gurianov, RFA at the end of the season, RW fills a hole in the Buffalo line up.
Comeau, sure why not.
2022 1st round pick (DAL)
2023 1st round pick (DAL)
2022 2nd round pick (DAL)
The trade above would be a good return without the extra first and second.
BTW the herniated disk in the neck is not a career ending injury.
95% of ALL herniated disks do not required surgery, instead rehabilitation and pain medication.

I don't see a way this deal gets done without Roope Hintz or Jason Robertson going the other way as the core piece in the return. If I'm the Sabres, here's the package I'm looking for in return for Eichel:

Dallas Stars
Jack Eichel

Buffalo Sabres
Roope Hintz
Jake Oettinger
Logan Stankoven
2022 1st Round Pick
2023 2nd Round Pick

Zero chance Seguin waives his NMC for Buffalo. And if I'm Buffalo, I'm not taking a near replacement for Eichel's contract for the next 6 years. If I'm Buffalo, I'd much rather spend that $10M on MULTIPLE pieces than 1 overpriced Center. @Shibbal18 please correct me if I'm wrong.

And if I’m Dallas I’d rather give Bowness some chemicals to make him live forever and be our coach forever then do the deal you proposed.

Players like Krebs and Schneider have been ruled untouchable so players like Hintz and Oettinger who’re way better shouldn’t be part of the question. Oettinger himself shouldn’t be traded ever, no question unless they give us a massive overpay, and when I mean massive I mean Russia size overpay. Our system has 0 good goalies, Bishop is 1 hit away from retirement and is 35 which is close to retirement, Dobby is 35 and also close to retirement, Holtby has been declining worse than Radek Faksa, and all of our other goalies are eye bleeding from what I saw in the prospect tournament. That and the fact that the only good goalies in FA next year are Kuemper (0 chance Sakic let’s him go after 1 year to a rival), Campbell (we basically traded him for a 7th), and Fleury (will be 37 going on 38 next year).

If we’re looking at a realistic deal it would be Bourque, Stankoven, Gurianov, Faksa, two 1st.

Anyhow I do not think Dallas should get someone getting paid 9+ million because with Benn and Segs making over 9 and Heiskanen, soon to be Klingberg, and potentially Hintz making 8+ million, our cap will just become a nightmare.
