"Hey Bob Murray-I'd like your best winger! Yeah, I know you're in the middle of a rebuild, but I'll give you a guy that you could have signed in free agency, a late 2nd and a 3rd in a couple of years! Please also retain 50% of his contract. Thanks."

I wonder how exactly that would be received...

Both teams decline. And it won’t take them a long time to.

Ducks have no interest in Kase, they wanted to get rid of him. While Comtois is a rising star. Terrible.

Oilers at least makes some sense but using Broberg to move a pair of cap dumps for a rental is a bad move.

What possible reason do you think ANA even thinks about that?

Bob Murray would die from laughing so much before that trade gets taken seriously

Aside from all the other things said about the trade with the Oil above, didn't Spezza basically say last year that if he's moved to/picked up by another team on waivers, he'll just retire?

That is an overpay for the Oilers to get those 2 as rentals. No way either resigns here, and we still need a backup goalie trading Koskinen away like that. Kassian had 15 goals just 1 year ago, making him a valuable asset for the team still, plus his tough game. Trading away Broberg on his own, the future replacement for Klefbom/Keith, would be bad for this teams future

im a big fan of AGM's with two trades where the team rips off another so bad in the first and then turns around and gets bodied even worse in the 2nd one.

lol, that trade is so one sided for the oilers it isnt even funny. Just an awful awful deal for toronto and there is no way to pretend that the Oilers are not coming up on top by a huge margin.
