1. You know taxi squads don’t exist anymore, right?
2. I know Gags isn’t the most valuable asset for the Wings to sell at the trade deadline, but it’s not worth the trouble to retain half salary and still only get a seventh.

Turn Benson to Holloway and Nashville might accept.

Expect to pay more for any player with retention even if they are just depth pieces, not worth it for any team to retain for less than a fourth, so each gagner and Boyle probably cost a third.

I think Detroit lets him go in this scenario I believe his family is still in Edmonton and It might be his last shot at a cup. But thats just my opinion.

That’s true, I didn’t think about that factor. Still wouldn’t want to use a retention slot on Gagner, but if he wants to go to Edmonton, set him free.

That I have no idea about We are already retaining on Pánik and with a couple of players that with bring in a bigger return if traded I think we just have to wait and see. If there is a slot open and Yzerman is done dealing then I have absolutely no problem with retaining on Gagner.

Gibson in front of that porous defense of yours won't look much better than he does in front of our sieve. He belongs on a contender with a quality defense, like Carolina, Washington, the Islanders or the Rangers, but all of those teams are already pretty well set in goal (which may be part of the reason why their defenses look so good).

When was the last time Gibson was elite? 2.5, maybe three seasons ago?

He's not worth that much, and I certainly would say no to sending Sammy and a first unless Rakell was coming back. But with the AAVs involved Kassian or other would have to be going the other way.

Samwise is done. No thanks. Same for Boyle, Kenny should aim higher.

As an Oiler fan, I really like this.

I think that is one of the best Gibson packages I've seen for Gibson posted. The value makes me hesitant, but still wanting to do it, so I would think maybe some Ducks fans have the same feelings. I would be willing to add to it a little more too. Two 2nds and a potential 3rd line guy isn't great. The picks are nice but im sure they'd prefer having a 1st returned.

Forsberg would be a nasty add, but realistically speaking I don't see a planet where we are able to keep and extend him. He's been a great producer and I think would expect at least $8M+ AAV (maybe lower in a low tax state). With a JP extension and Nurse deal kicking in, there is just no money for that. A nice luxury, but not feasible. Also would not be surprised if the Preds want a higher end piece back.

Boyle/Gagner are kinda nice, but not really necessary. Not really room. I get its nice having the extra vets though

Absolutely no freaking way is Yzerman retaining $425,000 on Gagner for a garbage 7th round pick. If you're giving us a trash 7th round pick then there's no retention period.
