Pearson is a gamble just like Ritchie was. Leafs probably don't want to go fishing again on a player with a bigger cap hit and a longer term, and pay a premium for the pleasure of doing so.

Bo boeser is an expensive restricted free agent. Zuccarello is OK to good. Calen Addison is a Top 4 d potential. Much less Minnesota would have to sign boeser to expensive contract
