I don’t think that’s enough for me to consider it.

That’s the 2022 1st round pick and it’s not protected

I still think the Isles are going to be in the final 4. Nick Paul is very good , Brannstrom has good potential and Bailey has been terrible

Although I like the idea of getting a 1st in return for Brannstrom, I don't think Bailey is something Ottawa wants, an aging forward with 2 more years at 5M per.

Seems like way too much from NYI, and I highly doubt we trade Bailey mid-season. If he's traded at all, it'll be in the off-season.

I'm very interested in Brannstrom though, I think he'd be a good fit. I would do Bellows, Salo, and a 2nd for Brannstrom and something. Paul's not a bad fit, or OTT could send a 5th round pick too.

Also, very interesting putting Pageau at RW. I don't hate it to be honest. It opens up getting a center to add some offense. Maybe next year if Raty makes the team Pageau can play RW on his line, although I think Raty should play LW when he first gets here.

If the draft were held today, Ottawa would be picking 7th overall with the Islanders' pick.

I think Ottawa should take this and run.

You need to add value for Ottawa taking Bailey and Chara’s cap imho

Yeah, agree with this entirely.

Brännström for a 1st is pretty reasonable value. He was selected in the 1st a couple years ago, and his value has certainly lowered since being drafted since he's not yet competent at all aspects of the NHL game and hasn't really made the jump. Let's say the Isles pick is a late one; that's about what Sens fans should expect or hope for in a Bränn return. From there it becomes a valuable asset (Nick Paul) for two declining cap dumps (Chara and Bailey). Not exactly a fair trade.

If Paul was dropped from the deal and some compensation was added to take on the other two deals (or if more was added to acquire Paul), maybe, but they could likely get a similar package without the bad cap from another team.

i think if the sens packaged brannstrom and paul they could probably recoup a 1st pretty easily from a team without taking back bailey and chara. isles are bad now but theres lots of season left so im not putting too much stock into where their pick is situated now. Maybe some retention on bailey could go a little ways
