Oilers will not need Muzzin by then. We have Niemeläinen, Samorukov and Broberg

Hard to know what'll happen 2 years from now but I have a hard time seeing Edmonton making that trade. Nurse is their #1 LHD and Broberg should be established as #2 by then. Why spend a 1st on a 34-year-old rental to play on the 3rd pairing?

Honestly, if the cost of 4 years of Marino is a late 1st, late 2nd, fringy prospect and goaltender-dump, if I was the Oilers I'd do that instead...that being said, I can't see the Pens having interest in that deal anyway.

Edmonton went 10+ years not able to make the playoffs but have still won more rounds than Toronto since the cap was introduced….

I guess depends if Marino has changed his mind on Edmonton. He was an Oilers draft pick but we dumped his rights for a 6th rounder as he wasn't going to sign.

I thought this was for next year not 2 years out… My mistake. If it was this deadline or this coming draft type of deal I’d be interested but this is looking way too far forward to say.

That wouldn’t get you Marino alone let alone with a 3rd round pick. The pens have less than 0 interest in trading Marino. It’d have to be an absolute massive overpay and this ain’t it.
