We need some top 6 help ASAP

Created by: OTTSENATORS
Team: 2021-22 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 25, 2021
Published: Nov. 25, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’ve seen some mocks for Boeser that just include Brannstrom, Formenton and our first (Top 3 protected) but I don’t think that gets it done. Kelly is a gritty young forward who can help out Vancouver’s bottom 6 right now. Formenton is definitely one of the leagues fastest skaters. If he improves his finishing he’ll score 25 in this league. He averages like two breakaways per game and is a weapon on the PK w his speed. Would be tough to part ways with him the most. Brannstrom has the most upside of the three but he’s far from being average defensively. He needs to add a lot of muscle. He gets steam rolled every game. He has a great first pass and shot. Plus he can quarterback the Canucks second power play unit for the next decade behind Hughes. And then if the pick falls outside the top 3 they potentially add another elite player from the draft. We’re 32nd, probably going to finish ahead of Arizona and maybe Seattle at this point. So maybe the pick falls between 4-6.

Ottawa should definitely bot be moving their 1st.

Whats your ask for Monahan he could probably benefit froma change of scenery, would also benefit from centering someone like Stutzle again too

Ottawa should not be giving out 1st round picks to anybody.

What if the 1st round pick for 2022 ends up being 4th overall?

You would be overpaying massively for Boeser.

Understatement

The top of this draft is extremely good too, like 2020 but even better

And then Brannstrom and Formenton might not be at their peak value but 2 more very good young pieces

Well last years draft was questionable even in a Sens fans eyes:

2020 Draft
Tim Stutzle
Jake Sanderson UND - 11GP 15 PTS as a defenceman
Ridly Greig WHL - 13GP 19 PTS
Roby Jarventie BEL - 18GP 10 PTS as an 18-19 year old
Tyler Kleven UND - 13GP 5 PTS Defensive D-man
Egor Sokolov BEL - 46GP 33 PTS - Led league in goals last year.

2019 Draft
Lassi Thomson OTT - 5GP 3 PTS
Shane Pinto OTT - 17 GP 8 PTS Hoby Baker finalist Draft +1
Mads Sogaard BEL - 12-3 record across the last 2 years
Viktor Lodin SHL - 14GP 11 PTS

I'm sure I'm leaving some out but their record hasn't been too bad.

Outside of Tkachuk, Bernard-Docker, and Pinto, I do not like OTT’s drafting. It’s certainly early but I question Stutzle upside over Rossi, Perfetti, or Lundell.
