Literally he is everything to this team. Without him this team likely finishes between 23rd and 26th. The offense was able to give him some help after he delivered some huge key saves.
Also I am unsure whether or not they changed their systems. They look the same, except on that one PK at the beginning of the 3rd I believe on the Dillon penalty. They came out extremely aggressive and shut down CGYs PP completely.
Maurice gets lucky after CSW plays well in the game. I’m still not sold on that being a sustainable lineup decision but we’ll have to wait and see.
Yeah, gotta wonder where they'd be without the goaltending they've had.
I meant in the offensive zone, nothing looks different to me, still way too far apart to get much going when your closest passing option is often 15-20 feet away.
I thought with the defense being improved we'd see an end to the one forward hanging back but they're still doing that as far as I can tell. I really thought that was a waste of talent even when the D core was bad.
I think that one penalty kill looked a lot better cause some of the Jets better skaters were on it, looked better with Connor, Scheifele and Wheeler on it for a bit compared to Nash and Lowry, Lowry is just too slow on the PK, when he wins the draw that's about all he's good for on the PK cause otherwise he's pretty much just standing there, always just a step too slow to get his stick on a shot or pass. I get the Jets PK is (stupidly) passive by design but it doesn't help when some of your penalty killers are slow as ****.
Connor is a bit better defensively now so maybe that trio will be better this time around, makes me wonder if 55 and 26's early season struggles was just them pouting cause they were separated.. Lol
