I don’t think we’re getting that much positive value for Kane

in no way will evander kane get a 1st round pick back

They will retain 50% just to get rid of him, not add value.

With half salary retained, I think yeah.

But if nothing retained you are right we probably obtain like a 2nd at best

The guy can still perform at high level even thought his teamates don't like him. SJS can afford shopping him if he only cost 3,5M.

Besides the Kane trade, these are good. If I was a Sharks fan I'd probably expect more for Hertl (maybe a B prospect) and it wouldn't be with Winnipeg. Probably Boston or another team that needs a 2C.

I think San Jose could get a bit of value if we retained 50%, but definitely not Compher and a 1st

Seriously? Kane was on waivers. He is a toxic waste dump for somebody to have to deal with and you think he nets a 1st and roster player? LOL. That’s rich. Hard easy fast no, as soon as Kane’s name gets brought up at least have the teams in the league immediately say “not interested at any price” since well you know they could have had him for free.

Why does TB give up a top pk guy as well as a 2 for a 4th liner? It makes absolutely no sense!
No chance in hell you get a 1st for Kane He was by far the most productive shark last year and his teammates went to management and told them to get him out says all that's needed to be said.

That’s false, there’s multiple teams looking at him

I was going to say the same thing about the Hertl trade, though Boston doesn’t have much of anything that interests me in terms of prospects. I’d love a trade with Carolina for one of their nice prospects, maybe one of their center prospects or Scott Morrow

Would be interesting but only if there's an injury. Running Aho-Trocheck-Staal down the middle is cup-contender worthy already

The guy cleared waivers. NOBODY took him for free. He is a walking PR nightmare waiting to happen, with at the very least a very pissed off wife who will drive the bus over him. He has negative value.

Very true, Emily Kaplan had mentioned they feel like this really could be their year at the cup and might go all in that’s why I have some hope they can pry out a prospect or two from them.
