Sharks are only trading Kane with retention if we don’t get negative value back and don’t have to give up assets to move him. If other teams can’t do that, we’d rather just hold onto him and buy him out next offseason.

For some reason I can't see the Oilers trading away their top prospect who could very well join the team later this season for 34 year old perimeter winger with 3 goals haha. I don't know why I think that. Might be thinking like a homer.

MTL deal is brutal. Petry does not look great. Are we forgetting Barrie led the dmen in points last year. He is a fine player when playing 15 mins a night with 5+ of those being on the pp. Keep him there and he's good. Don't need to flush a 1st on Petry.

You also have the Oilers trading away way too many picks in the Gourde deal. I actually really like Gourde, but he's just a luxury we don't really need. That many picks and a good winger in Foegele is just too much.

I've been vocal about no team having interest in Kane for obvious reasons. I am also very passionate as of a few days ago that Kassian is washed-up and hasn't had an impactful shift since the 1st game of the season. SO I want him gone. But the extra years on Kanes deal just isn't worth it, let alone the fact that he could ruin a locker-room. Poor influence on the young guys and just too selfish an individual

+You have just sent Edmonton into another 15 years of darkness by trading away Holloway and essentially every valuable draft pick we desperately need to build for future seasons.
+Also why do Oilers fans on here keep trying to trade for Evander Kane?!?! Makes no sense to me and Kassian may be under performing currently but even without points he brings a lot to that 3rd line and is a complete playoff performer when the crowd gets him going (see the San Jose series from 2016 when Kassian singlehandedly won us two games and the crowd was chanting Kass-ee-an! for every home game).
+You're also under paying for the reigning Vezina winner it would take a 1st round pick especially if you're asking them to take on Koskinen's contract for the rest of the season.
+The Foegele trade isn't bad except that Foegele has been a huge driving force this year for us and burning 2 second rounders for Gourde? Is he really going to bring that much more than Foegele is already bringing?
+Petry's best years are behind him and Barrie is wicked on the PP, even if he is at times a defensive liability at 5v5 hockey. Again, why are other Oilers fans so eager to give away Barrie. Let's not run him out of town he took less money to be here and since the Pronger curse we could use players in the dressing room that actually want to be here.

The AZ and the MTL trades are historically bad for Edmonton. Only Chiarelli would do something so dumb!
