GM Game Master Thread

OK. Here's a game that people can play if they want where people can pretend to be the GM of a team, and we can make trades and stuff as if it's the offseason (no vegas expansion trades until we get closer to the expansion draft, though you may talk about those trades). You may ask for a team, and i will give you that team if it isn't already taken. My favourite teams are the Rangers and Islanders tied, so i'll be the Islanders. Each person may only be the GM of one team.

The only thing I would say about that, is if you try it and the BOG isn't able to make it in time for whatever reason, you shouldn't blame him. (Not saying you would, but someone might)

sounds good man. if not, I would potentially contend that I submitted the selection to you, in the case that either of us don't make it, and I dont get the player I selected some hours prior.

I wouldn't blame anyone, but I would contend that I made my pick through a different medium, that was in transit to be processed on the GM Game.

So if the BOG doesn't make your pick in time, and the next guy takes the player you wanted, what would you expect to happen? Take that player away from him and give it to you?

idk, I would just contend that I made the pick, and that the tracker wasn't updated. do you have another faux gmail that I can contact to insure that my pick will be made in the event of any GM not being able to attend the selection? I can probably tell you rn, that the ANA GM will have to take the best player available via ranking, so the only issue I have is the timing, which might not even be an issue

I really only want to set a precedent of what would happen, should this situation arise and actually form

I'm not saying you can't ask a BOG to make your pick. The rules however, are that the only guaranteed way to get your player is to make the selection yourself.
If you are using a BOG member and they make your pick, great! However, if they can't, you get the next BPA and will have to accept that.

We discussed this possibility when drafting the rules, and it isn't fair to the BOG or other GM's for one GM to complain because they weren't able to make their pick and were relying on someone else to do it. If you aren't making your pick yourself, it is at your own risk and the responsibility is yours, not the person you passed your pick off to and not the other GM who may have taken the player you wanted because something didn't work out.

I want that to be clear so we don't have someone freaking out because they didn't end up with the player they wanted.

Hey, as long as it is constant. I understand what the rules are, just wanted to clarify so I don't get into a debate over what could I have been. However, I know that one GM has posted onto the thread for you, the BOG, to submit his vote since he was at work. Should you not have seen it and submitted it, he would have had to select the next best available, even though he submitted it through a different thread?

That is correct. If his pick wasn't made in time, it would have been BPA regardless of what he posted in another thread.
(According to the rules. I am not a BOG member, I'm speaking as to how it would/should be processed only.)

Just about had enough of these GMs that just say "no" to a trade offer and don't counter or elaborate as to why they don't want to move a guy. So god damn annoying!

i never was interested in Hamonic+ for Voracek. As i said, you'd have to add if you want the deal. Voracek is very good WHEN HE'S AT HIS BEST. When he isn't you don't notice him that much. Also Hamonic is on a great contract while Voracek makes over 8 million dollars a year.
