I'd start with AJF, Kempny, the 2022 1st, and the 2023 2nd?

Nashville and their fans won't be setting the price on Forsberg, the market will. They have no choice but to sell him, it's what teams are willing to give which will determine what they get.

Ask would probably be around Lapierre or Leason. Washington doesn't really have a deep prospect pool and CMM is unreasonable

I'm not high on Leason at all. Drafted as a double overager and hasn't been exactly great in Hershey. Granted there are only really 4 or 5 names in the next two rounds I'd have genuinely wanted over him had I been making that selection in 2019, but he's quickly becoming more of a project than a prospect.

I think if he turned into a right-handed Maroon all parties should be happy.

They could re-sign him, keep him for a playoff run, keep him for a playoff run then re-sign him - they've got lots of choices.

Except none of those are their choices. Right now it doesn't look like they are going to be making the playoffs and re-signing him is something Forsberg has a choice in too, one he hasn't been very dedicated to. Forsberg is intent on testing free agency right now and that's why there's all the trade talk about him.

Nope. 20 years old two months before the draft.

are you sure he was passed in 2 drafts or was it just that his birthday falls in the time period of the following year? Like Holloway

It's an April birthday. He was passed over twice.

Part of what's kept me well-versed on that is Oilersnation ran like a dozen pieces leading up to that draft - another year Edmonton sucked - and his name came up a lot and induced an equal amount of anxiety.

Fair enough, I was really worried Calgary was going to take him at 26 that year, nothing against Leason but Pelletier might end up a steal

Well, obviously Forsberg has a some say in where and when he signs his next contract. I didn't think that needed to be said. I couldn't say I know that he's "intent on testing free agency", but only Fil and his agent know the answer to that. There's no reason to think NSH can't re-sign him, if they want to (I'm still on the fence on if they should). They have more cap space than all but the bottom feeders of the league, and the other advantages NSH has over other cities (familiarity with the team/system, the tax advantage in TN, not having to move, etc.) presumably gives them a leg up.

As to the bolded, clearly you're not paying attention to the Preds. 2nd in the division, six straight wins, won eight of their last ten. They're the hottest team in the league, and look much more resilient than they ever have. I know they were written off by everyone before the season even started, but they're a really interesting team to keep an eye on this year.

I don’t get people sometimes. We might not look like a playoff team near the trade deadline only time will tell but right now the preds look like one of the better teams. It’s like when people who are still adding picks to johansen or Duchene when they do a proposals like you apparently haven’t even did any research on the preds.
As far as forsberg I think poile will do everything he can to sign him.

Maybe take out add a decent prospect and I would give that up if he agrees to an extension

Me too. My concern is not having a person to fill the role of hags

Hags is someone who is replaceable through free agency , yes AJF would just be better and younger but to get Forsberg long term it might be worth it to part with AJF and find a replacement for hags in Free agency, Jimmy Vesey will be a free agent this summer and if he doesn’t resign with the devils he would be a great target based off of how he has played
