At least it’s not as bad as the capital riots.

Don’t jinx it, that’s a realistic evolution of the protest

What freedoms have been lost? Nobody has the right to risk the health of others and it's that same inaction from that specific minority that has dragged out Covid to an endemic state. I take a lot of issue with how many people have rallied behind a "movement" that has been both organized and heralded by white supremacists. Protest all you want, but be mindful of who you hitch your wagon to.

Once again I ask that political discourse find its way to The Box.

Since you wanted us to bring it to the box but I wanted to chime in. Yeah, no freedom has been lost, the protest started as truckers wanting no mandates but it has very much become anti-vax and not anti-mandates, they had to know that doing this would result in the radicalization of the mouvement. As someone who live in Ottawa, this is saddening to see and I can only be glad I don’t live or need to pass by close to those areas

You can quote and bring it to another thread. That’s pretty cool. To go on topic just get vaxxed. I’m scared to get it because I hate shots and I’m scared how I will feel after.

It's crucial that we acknowledge that over 90% of truckers are vaccinated. A sweeping majority of them are still supporting their communities by continuing their work and social responsibilities. This was never about vaccine mandates. It has absolutely nothing to do with the pandemic. The desecration of the Terry Fox memorial and the national cenotaph highlight this. The fact that a vigil for the mosque shooting had to be cancelled due to threats of violence from that same convoy is proof enough. If you want to make demands against the current government, the only thing you should be seeking is that every one of these jackasses that went to Ottawa to "protest" and instead chose to threaten others be sent to prison. Our government continues to be baby-sh*t soft on racism and all of its forms despite over a calendar year of uncovered residential school graves and policy makers being ousted as known supporters of a very specific white-centric racial faction.

The fact that Jason Kenney has not been removed from power for once again taking the role of a dog-whistling fool is astounding. I want out of the West. Nothing makes sense anymore and - Alberta specifically - is doing it's best to match tit-for-tat the political division seen in the United States. There is no common good anymore. No common-sense policies. If the NDP touched it, get rid of it. If the Conservatives touched it, get rid of it.

You are going to feel like hell for a day. Be it a sore arm or a fever, the needle itself isn't going to bother you.

A lot of people have died, alone and unable to breathe, from covid. The calculus here is quite obvious. I got my third three days ago. Please go get yours.

the freedom to live in a society that isn't terrified of getting the sniffles aka omicron

sorry but this is the kinda idiotic ignorance (not calling you directly an idiot) that has made covid last so long.

I am not hard one way or the other either (if it matters i literally dont vote, i find both sides intolerable) ; i agree there are so many dumb ****ing rules created or weird rules that make no sense.

but to say covid isnt a problem is an embarrassing statement. yeha maybe you and I may be fine, or maybe you may die and i wont (vice versa) or maybe I kill your mom cause I gave you covid. or maybe nothing. we dont know until it happens.. the problem is that people (and people who use this comment that you just said) are being fed misinfo from an idiotic group of people (and many people who arent dumb but lodged into this group) and then they take the fact that many people can easily get through COVID and assume "well this was easy so why the **** is everyone else scared". Which then you impose your beliefs and views on people who are scared because you arent scared by going into private places with rules and disobeying them on purpose.

the following examples are the exact same thing. "youre opressing us" and then walking into a store without a mask and causing arguments (after going to multiple 1000+ meet ups) - which is in turn forcing the danger of covid on people who actually may have risk of death from covid or people they know/ interact with who can die. So you arguing for "freedom" is actually not only harming the freedom of others but putting others at harm.

Yes some of the rules are an annoyance. There are alot of logical people who are antivax or anti mask or anti whatever that are quite smart and you can have logical and great conversations with; and provide ideas that I have found some insanely smart sense in. I work in sports/fitness and Ive had some great discussions with people of differing and similar views. but those people are buried by "John Smith, 54, white, Klan supporter" who has gathered 10k people to spread similar but much stupider messages.

im not scared of covid, im living my life like there isnt covid, the way i believe i should. but that doesnt mean i walk around maskless and **** and whine and force my views on people who see things differently. Im friends with people who are anti vax (but dont make an ass of themselves) - and they dont support a majority of the idiotic **** you see from these "freedom" movements. they support the message but not the method of which thousands of people go around "looking for a fight".

plus as @beterchiarelli said; this rally isnt a majority of the workers, and they being supported by some terrible people (not all the truckers are bad people, but a few of them are and some of them are supported by disgusting humans)

If you have really good grades, firstly keep up the great work, but secondly, Canada isn't the place to go for a high-quality post-secondary education. It's no different than the American schools: the savings aren't substantial (the program I took was only half the price of its American counterparts), and even then costs are skyrocketing as the for-profit model creeps north.

Look at what's best for you and your future. I would recommend Europe*. It's affordable and you'll receive far more than just an education by studying abroad. Culturally, spiritually, you'll grow a lot more as a person than if you stayed home, went to a local community college, and never really ventured out beyond the world you grew up in. There will be guilt with wanting to stay in touch with family and friends, but they'll understand when you come out on the other side better for it. There's an age-old adage about not coming into your own until you leave your hometown. You have a lot of road ahead of you. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Just try not to hurt anyone along the way!

*Offer not valid if WW3 breaks out by June. Mileage may vary.

Everyone’s going to react differently, I only had fatigue issues. My first dose I was boxing with that arm 2-3 days after and my second dose I was boxing straight after with the same arm. Was a little sleepy, but Tylenol had be up and running.

The pro’s majorly outweighs the con’s.
