He is a worse Scandella why would the blues pay for that. There are way better options for that price. I think this whole Chiarot in STL is a dumb idea.

Not saying that's the answer for the Blues, but if you're going to overpay for a few months of someone who isn't particularly good, why not overpay for someone that helps long term?

There's a huge difference between a late 1st and a late 3rd and ADDING 2 top prospect. If i'm AZ and u want Chychrun : the conversation start with 1st + Kyrou or Thomas + Prospect. If I were u Chariot is way more affordable

Not a Blues fan here, but if LD was my biggest concern today (I personally don't believe it is), I'd be taking the 3.25 years of the much better/cost controlled dman, over 0.25 years of a dman who is absolutely not the long term answer in St. Louis.

Plus, they've already got their own Chiarot in St. Louis in the form of Scandella. Why overpay for something you really don't need?

Edit: And yes, I get that there's a difference between a Chychrun package and a Chiarot package, but this seems like the perfect moment to once again mention: The last pending UFA LD that returned a 1st at the deadline was in 2015, and he was a heckofalot more valuable than Chiarot.

As a Habs fan that has seen both play on my team, Chairot is better and i dont think its really close. Especially if you are looking for a playoff performer.

Scandella and Chiarot are not the same player, not even close.
