As a Ducks fan, I agree completely. No reason to think Hampus re-signs in Arizona, which leaves them with a mid 2nd, and 2 guys who haven't panned out.

That being said, the actual price to acquire him won't make sense for the Ducks anyway...just re-sign Hampus and keep building.

Considering Lindholm is going to be a UFA, he doesn't hold much trade value to AZ unless he is signing a contract with them. Which I doubt a player like Lindholm opts to sign with a club like AZ.

You have a rental, and 2 players who are middle of the lineup at best. The second could hold some value, but they are giving a 3rd along with Chychrun? Way too little. Have to imagine they ask for one of Drysdale, Zegras, or Terry.

Unless we were to trade Hampus and use those picks to then acquire Chychrun .. probably not happening as that team could just have gotten him but a thought as I like the idea of possibly selling our UFA’s and then buying others

Yeah, I guess it all depends...I love Hampus, but I don't think he brings back anything close to what we want at the deadline. Far better off extending him, and potentially selling off Rakell.

Also would be curious as to the message that would be received in the dressing room by selling all 3 pending UFA's...I get that it makes long term sense (Especially Rakell and/or Manson), but with the team in a competitive spot, maybe a bit of exposure to the playoffs would be a solid development tool?

Probably wouldn’t be too bad since they’d be going to contenders most likely so it wouldn’t be like they’re just getting rid of them, but also the young guys are going to be it as soon as next year I believe

I think it could be a good move personally, moves like Rakell for a 1st + maybe then try and turn that into like a Brock Boeser or something like that so they still stay competitive but get younger and potentially better

I don’t think I’d like to just sell off guys and then tank, that would be bad

Yeah, it's a weird spot to be in. I said it this morning...the last 10 games have really shown where the warts are in the roster, especially when it comes to depth. I would be extremely surprised if we can hold off all 3 of the Kings, Flames and Oilers, and I'd be even more surprised if the Pacific gets one of the wildcard spots. That being said, I'm surprised with where we're at right now, and am enjoying watching the boys go!

Not Terry, Zegras or Drysdale. But I could see the asking price be Lundestrom + Tracey/Zellweger + 1st

I agree with you — 2 years and we will look back and laugh at how fun they are to watch right now

They wouldn't get that from the Ducks. They weren't even on the table for Eichel. The Ducks shouldn't even trade a single one of their best prospects at the moment which would automatically take them out of the Chychrun-conversation. They're still rebuilding.

Yeah I just can’t really imagine us getting it done with what I personally would be willing to give up

Probably the same as we paid for Bobby Ryan back in the day. Young top 6 player + 1st round prospect + 1st round pick

Ducks shouldn't do that either. But that might just be me, since I'm a big opponent of the Ducks trading any prospect, pick or young player at the moment.

I’m with you. Open to trading UFA’s to possibly upgrade
Example: Rakell into Boeser
