I'll give ya Nick Ritchie straight up for him. Consistent scorer, and Don Cherry said that he was better than Willy!

Varlamov has an extra year on his contract which could be a big problem for Edmonton depending on smiths future if he wants to finish out his contract oilers can’t bring in any term without risk of loosing skinner. Unfortunately moving kosk doesn’t actually solve the real issue in goal for Edmonton.

Top 4 defenceman who has been on the ice for over a quarter of his team's goals against. Not very great news for an apparent great shutdown defenceman. Keep him, he would he garbage in a puck possession system.

Good point. And yeah, why is everyone hating on Mikheyev? Dude literally beat McDavid in a foot race

To be fair, Pulock, Dobson and Mayfield are all between 20-21 minutes a night (I'm just assuming those three are the right side, in that order...).

But yeah, a pending UFA for Mayfield ain't it. and Mayfield > Dermott, so he's not wrong. That being said, he really doesn't fit the puck possession system (IMO).

Pending UFA. If I'm the Leafs though, I'd be keeping him as a free rental going into the playoffs. Beast on the PK.

Dermott and Mikheyev have been traded on here by Leafs fans for every player on every roster on every team AHL and NHL. So don't take too much offense.

They can make the cap work though. They won't risk losing skinner they will just carry 3 goalies.

I have heard it doesnt make sense for the isles to trade Varlamov. Even if edmonton wasn't on varlamov's no trade list if they trade varlamov nobody else on the team speaks Russian. Sorokin wouldn't have an interpreter or anybody to talk to on the team.

I have heard rumblings mikeyev isnt happy on the leafs because he doesnt get enough opportunity. I have to think he leaves after this year.

So is Sergachev not a top 4 defenseman because he's behind Hedman and McDonagh?

I feel like that's fine. He's a free rental. So you lose him for nothing in the offseason...No big deal.

I see it suggested countless times just use three goalies but how often do we ever see that and there’s a reason why we don’t it’s a massive headache to work around injuries. I like the idea of adding him but we need smith to come out and say he’s done retiring before can realistic even look at it.

Mikheyev for Mayfield would be a steal rn for the Isles especially with his current play

As Mikheyev in 9 games has the same amount of goals as Beauvillier (6 goals rn) and more than Pageau, Bailey, and Palmieri (And hes making significantly less lul). In other words he would be tied for 5th in goals on the Islanders.

That said were not moving him as that current goal pace at 1.65mill is a steal lul

I don't think that is the case. They could trade Barrie and replace him with a 1.5 million dollar guy freeing up the space or if they try everything else and nothing works they could buyout kassian. A kassian Buyout is not my first choice as it is not great in the second year. I would probably keep him one more year then buy him out as it is though.
