Stop dumping Holl on the wild, we are 8 defenders deep all better than Holl.

I almost got whiplash reading "Spencer Martin" on that list tears of joy I mean, two games is a great story, but buyer be-f*ckin'-ware.

Edmonton will put in a waiver claim when the other two Vancouver goalies are healthy. i'm not saying sign him to 3.5x3 but his 800k contract can be buried.

Heinen had a 2 year cold streak in the middle of 2 years ago and now that you are forgetting about.

Yikes. I'm not buying on two games, but I suppose deperate times call for desperate measures.

He would literally be free and without risk of anything.

To add fuel to the fire edmonton management and pro scouts were in the building last night to watch martin.

Prince is steep when you want a goalie and Ken Holland thinks Martin Jones is the answer. Leafs won't sell off Mrazek for cheap

Mrazek is bad and always hurt why would they want him at all let alone pay that price? They could get a much better goaltender for that or cheaper

The Mrazek trade is wishful thinking.

Leafs will trade Mrazek at some point before the start of next season in order to free the capspace for a Campbell extension (which you're pretty spot on at $5.5M based on what I've read as well, though I believe the term is going to be 5-6yrs instead of 4.) That said, there is no way you move him to a team for a 1st and a 3rd, even if that team was desperate. I've always been a fan of his even before he came to Toronto, but this years numbers aside, he doesn't fetch that return even if this was 2 years ago based on his Carolina numbers. Goalies that aren't top tier don't fetch high returns in this current market anymore.

Although I agree with what's been previously stated about Kerfoot in this thread, he's not getting a 1st round pick. If the Leafs trade him, and I believe they will, he's going to be part of a deal where he is not only a big part of the return, but a necessary asset for money matching purposes if the team tries to go for a more impact name at the deadline.

Pretty close to the number's I've heard predicted for Sandin and Liljegren on bridge deals, but Kase at $2M for 6 years made me laugh. I think the money value would be there, though I think he may push for $2.5 - $3M annual, he's not signing a 6yr deal at that price point anywhere.

I think you get more for Holl than you do for Dermott.

Maybe slightly controversial opion here, but considering a 37 year old Patrick Marleau was able to get two offers over $5M AAV when he hit the market 5 years ago, Giroux who is younger and putting up better numbers is going to sign for more term and a higher AAV than 2yrs @ $4M per.

I'm always surprised at how lineups are constructed . So 2m Holl gets traded for a 4th and 1.5m Dermott for a 4th. But somehow the Leafs are suppose to just as good with 1m UFA Bortuzzo?

Wouldn't the Isles/Wild and Bortuzzo just be better with the Isles/Wild for 1.5m?

1st and 3rd is too much but his numbers are better than koskinen,

Mrazek: 3-2-0 with .899sv% with Leafs defense
Koskinen: 14-8-1 with 899sv% with Duncan Keith and Cody Ceci playing 20+ mins a night in front of the guy.

WOW, you really need to learn your stats

Kerfoot is not even in the realm of a 1st.

He absolutely is. Other teams might not pay it but the leafs aren’t parting with him for less.

Mrazek is a different story…

He absolutely is not. People on this board have a very poor grasp of what type of players are worth firsts.

31 points in 41 games played just saying, he will get the Leafs a 1st+ easily (on pace for 62 points)

It's amazing that people were giving him away before the season and now he's worth a first? I'm glad he's having a solid year, but teams will not commit a 1st based on him having a good year this year.

He’s on pace for 64 points. He’s proven that when he plays on the wing instead of 3rd line centre, he can be a very effective player. 2nd line, affordable, wingers that can play centre in the case of an injury, with term don’t grow on trees. The leafs have 0 reason to trade him since they are contending. If he’s traded, it’s for at least a first. The more likely option is, however, that he goes nowhere. That said, I could maybe understand an argument that that trade doesn’t make sense for the pens.

He's not a need for the Pens. Pens' need a backup goalie. That's about it. Maybe some minor depth moves.

So it's normal for a team to give up a player who has 31 points for a 2nd or 3rd round pick?

For an above average 3rd liner, I think a 2nd + a middle prospect is more than fair.

Anything more than a 3rd for Rodrigues, Leafs easily will say no. He's not worth anything more and a 3rd is overpaying for someone who hasn't performed in prior years
