Trade Deadline

Created by: robrob10
Team: 2021-22 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2022
Published: Jan. 30, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
2 prospects a 1st and a conditional pick (possibly a 1st), plus Rask for JT Miller with no retension and a 5th round pick. Sets Wild up for a cup run. But makes them decide who to subtract next year to meet the salary cap. Zuccarello, Fiala, Miller, Greenway, Dumba, and Golisgoski. 3 of the 6 will probably have to be subtracted to meet salary cap in 2022. Maybe better off standing pat at TDL and putting Rossi in the 2C spot. Guerin has some tough choices to make.

Fiala isn't being traded from Minnesota. A contender isn't trading players like Rossi, boldy or fiala and jt Miller isn't worth that. No gm is paying that especially Minnesota.

No one said we should, but JT has less term than Zucker who got a 1st and b prospect which was considered overpayment. Your gm can ask, there's a reason no trade has happened. No gm will pay that. Yesterday proved why GM'S will also be hesitant about JT

Miller >> Zucker, and it's not even close.

If you really want to straw man yesterday into lowering Miller's value that's fine - but it's just as easy to look at his WPG hattrick.

Vancouver either trades Miller for a 1st, good prospect and one more piece. Or they will keep him. No team is offering "Eichel like deal" for JT Miller. They probably end up keeping him.

Did I say Zucker was on same level? I said terms matter to alot of gm's. The players Vancouver fans are asking for aren't getting to be traded in real life for him

JT Miller has the same amount of term as Blake Coleman who got traded for a 1st and Nolan Foote. Miller is much better than Coleman if the Canucks retain on Miller, they could get a huge return

Minnesota isn't front runner. Interest is different from front runner.

Eichel offer getting topped? That won't happen

I would argue another small piece, but I think this is the best comp I’ve heard. He’s not Eichel. He’s 28. His next contract shouldn’t be with the team that trades for him.

Don't be an idiot. If we actually bother to trade for Miller, it won't include our 2nd best winger who is on par with Boeser. Especially if the goal is to actually compete for the cup. The entire point of acquiring him would be to play him between Fiala and Boldy.

Therefore it's asinine to even think about moving one of those two for Miller. It would defeat the entire purpose of getting him.

Fiala coming back to the Canucks doesn't make sense for us either so idk what he was saying.

It's hard to see a fit for a Miller trade to Minnesota, they just don't have the pieces to do this that mesh with what Vancouver needs. Its a pipe dream more than anything. Vancouver needs a young C and or RD and Minny has nothing significant like that to offer.
