Oh, I was actually talking about today's: Gordle 82.
I got Hecht in 3 guesses.

I feel like the 90s and 2000s in general are where only superstars are well known. The height of the dead puck era was in that time frame, and a lot of this site is younger too so they wouldn’t have seen them play. I grew up watching hockey in the 2000s but only as a fan of the Sens as a kid, I didn’t get super into it to the point of knowing a lot about the league in general until around 2009 or so, so not knowing a decent defenseman from the 90s or a 2LW/3C from the early- to mid-2000s isn’t that surprising. I also feel like these decades in general have the least memorable players (outside of top line/all star level guys) if you didn’t win the cup. Like, the second tier of player I would say is most memorable right now because they’re active, and then the 2010s (very recent) or 80s (super high scoring and known for that). Like both these guys had under 500 career points, not enforcers, no individual trophies, or notoriety for other reasons (like I’d say Bob Nystrom fits into that category but he scored a cup winning goal for the Isles as like, maybe their 7th most important player overall, so I know him for that reason).
