remember this is just for fun and Nugent-hopkins can play on the wing as he did with drai for the past two years.

I feel like if you give Byram a year for him to heal then he'll become one of the best dmen in the league when he comes back.

The difference between Mc and MacK isn't that great that it would warrant Byram's inclusion. It's easy to use the health issues atm as an argument but it's a no-brainer that the Avs wouldn't do it.....and I get that it's just for fun.

Depends on the severity. I recall Ryane Clowe have multiple concussions in one season and he still has horrible migraines to this day and he's been retired for several years now.

I think you're right, They should probably de-activate him for the year if he's having serious problems and give him time to heal. Better to lose one year than a career. That said, we don't have the full story.

I feel like if the oilers didn't retain any cap then byram would be too much but if your getting mcdavid at 8.5 mil for like 4 more years then its worth it.

Yea but look at crosby he had multiple bad ones and he took a year and a bit off and came back and was probably the best player in the league for multiple years.

A lot would depend on what MacK extends at.

Not going to happen with Bert. You would have to include McCloud, Holloway and a first and remove Barrie. No way your doing that.

I have heard from some sources that mack has said he would resign in colorado for less then he makes now in order to keep the team together to help them win.

I don't think he'd sign for less than he makes now but he certainly doesn't give the impression of being greedy and would take a 'hometown discount'. His main thing is to win and he knows if he eats too much into the cap then there aren't the pieces to fit around him. Smart cookie IMO. I could easily see him signing at around the 10 mil mark rather than the 12 plus that a lot of people are saying. He'd undoubtedly want the term and full NMC as well though but I'd do that any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Yup for his sake I pray that he recovers and turns into the defensemen that I know he can be and imo he could be the next Hedman or prime Ekman-larsson

Hockey illuminati made a video where he heard that mack wanted to sign around the 5 mil mark but that was last year so idk but imagine if thats what he signed for that would probably change the outlook for a lot of players who want 10+ mil

Certainly haven't seen it and if Mack did that whilst I don't think it would change the hockey cap landscape overnight, it would have some serious impact I'm sure. I still don't think it's likely but what the Avs could do with that extra cap space!!!! Scary thought!

You can't really compare concussions. they effect everyone differently. Just because one guy is still good doesn't mean another will have the same success. Just look at Nolan Patrick, concussions have destroyed his career already.

Fair. But, saying Byram is 'effectively a dead horse' because of concussion issues is a bit premature. He could end up coming back and having a great career. Its too early to say
