Don't see Calgary dealing Valimaki especially not for that, And doubtful Monahan waives for the worst team in the NHL.

I have literally no idea what you are trying to say here mate.

You could have made a worse offer, but that’s terrible for MTL

I don't dislike this as much as my MTL colleagues. I actually like it. A 1st + Valimaki is a good offer for Toffoli, and Monahan with some retention would fetch more than Evans on the market. Matthew Phillips has some NHLer upside and Kulak is a pending UFA.

That’ll be a no from Montreal. I don’t mind taking on Monahan. I think he can be a good 1 year stop gap next year where it would be Suzuki as #1, Monahan as #2C and Shane Wright as #3C (hehehe) This would make Dvorak available for a trade this year and also Monahan would be tradeable at next years deadline as a rental.

That being said, that package does not get you Toffoli. He’s worth at least a 1st and a A prospect (not named Pelletier)
He’s 0.8PPG since joining mtl , a leader, a cup winner, on a great contract.

I'm not sold at all with this trade but I got this : instead of Evans (we want him in mtl) i offer you futures considerations. Then we flip Monahan to a third team and we flip you the pick when Gaudreau will tell you that he walk for habs okay??

I don't want to trade away Toffoli but I have seen way worst offers for him...

The thing for me is that a young LHD is the last thing MTL needs, apart from old RWs.

That's the rub for me in any Toffoli trade. If there isn't a C/RD prospect coming back as the main piece, no thanks. I'll consider anything if that criteria is met first.

I don't mind that Habs trade. The only guy I prefer to swap out for someone else is Phillips. He'd be just AHL fodder for the Habs which we have tons of already. Need someone who got a better shot at making the team or heck even just a late pick instead.

He is over a ppg in the AHL right now. I think he is going to be a NHL regular honestly.

Yeah I saw that. He's had good numbers even prior to this year but I think for a 5'7 140 pounder to be a regular, they got to be spectacular. I just don't think he has enough. PPG in the AHL means nothing to me. Career 4th liner's have been PPG in the AHL before, some guys are just meant for AHL but not NHL, I think Phillips is one of them.
