Too bad that’s terrible for the Devils
That’s not even enough to dump Myers contract

I assume the very flawed logic here is that Vancouver is taking on Subban's bad contract and getting some assets/losing some of their own bad contracts to do it?

Except Subban's contract is irrelevant to the Devils, they're a non-playoff team, are way under the cap and his contract is up at the end of the season. Dumping Subban doesn't add any value to the Devils.

Lol Myers is not a salary dump. He's playing one of his beat seasons for the canucks this year and it's by far there top RHD. They are not trading Myers.. let alone calling him a cap dump. Pearson is a good player on a reasonable contract who can easily play on 2nd or 3rd line. And Dickinson has had some sturgles this season but it's only his 1st with the canucks..he will find his game again..so yes by far the canucks loose this trade and zacha is not worth any of this from the canucks

I wouldn’t mind this at all.
We are able to shed 11+m there…… and then we could flip Subban to a contender with retaining 1/2 of the 9m for some assets back. Then we have money to re-sign Miller and Horvat and remake the defence….. why not ?

It's 2 after this season. And not biased at all. I watch the games and can clearly see he's a much better player for the canucks this season than he was the last couple.

Yup.

Zacha > Pearson

PK is trash but his contract expires, getting a couple more years of Myers off the books is a win despite being decent this year.

3rd/4th > Dickinson

Easy win for Nucks. They should send NJ a gift basket on the anniversary of the trade for years.

Take out Myers and replace with Garland or Boeser. They are the reason NJD is discussing Zacha with Vancouver.
Also take our Dickinson.
And Pearson.
No need to include those guys.

And what incentive do the Devils have in taking $11 million in cap dumps from Vancouver?
It should take two 1sts to move that kind of cap hit.
Not to mention the cost of acquiring Zacha.

I can see your logic which part of it makes sense forsure.
I agree zacha switch with Pearson
And a 3rd for Dickinson makes sense
But if canucks give up Myers they have no top rhd and no prospects coming up. Yes they could turn to free agency..but there isn't much out there that canucks could afford or would really be a big upgrade on Myers.

That is what I have been saying!! Zacha plus d prospect plus 2nd (mid-30's pick)

Zacha + Bahl + 2nd
Zacha + Okhotiuk + 2nd
Zacha + McCarthy + 2nd

...for Garland or Boeser

That type of deal.

I would 100% take the 1st you proposed for Garland. I feel like boeser has a little more upside. So maybe a 1st but if top 10 this year it moves to next year.

I think Bahl and Okhotiuk are interchangeable in value. Both physical defensive d-men who can skate well. Bahl has size advantage. McCarthy was added since he is defensive RD, but probably a little further behind the others. Our 1st is likely not involved.

Dickinson isn't getting traded for less than a 3rd/4th, and Pearson is only about a 3rd round pick less in value than Zacha

I believe it was Satiar Shah. He reported that they could likely move Myers, although his value would likely be no more than a mid-late round pick or a player making minimal money at this time (he said around 1M)

He also said the Canucks likely wouldn’t have to retain money either, but that it would more likely be an off-season move
