I just dont see any way the isles part with mayfield at all, let alone for the garbage packages i see alot of leaf fans propose. They have absolutely no depth on the right side and hes a good top 4 DFD making 1.45M

if he gets moved itll have to be an overpay so I dont think its really crazy to be expecting a 1st+ considering the market and the isles lack of organizational depth when it comes to RHD

Not really interested in any of these guys and Giroux has said he'd wave for Colorado, or if not there then Min or stl

So he is not an option

imo it would take at least a first for the isles to move mayfield, but they can take on a cap dump in the return, maybe ritchie or holl, since that's how the d market is panning out with the savard deal and seemingly with chiarot. just don't see it happening for less since he has another year and they don't have a prospect to take his place.

Would a 1st 5th and Ritchie get that package then?

they'd definitely consider it. i might push for a third instead of the fifth but i think that's close

Jarmo probably wants to try and get a 1st for Domi (like he did for Folingo), though I doubt he does. So probably a 2nd, a B level prospect and a cap dump.

              My two cents on these

PHI trade - Giroux is not waiving. Reports say he wants to go to COL, or maybe STL or MIN if COL doesn't work. Basically he wants to go west. Risto and MacEwen will probably cost a 1st+ with retention...not that it's worth it for the Leafs

NYI trade - Lamoriello and Trotz are very fond of these guys. Expect the return to be once again so high that no one should be interested. Likely 1st+something.

ARI trade - I suppose Lyubushkin+Galchenyuk might be moving for a 2nd round pick. ARI likes those.

SEA trade - That team is lacking in RHDs, so I don't think Larsson is available. Plus he's also inked long-term. Appleton's probably available for a 2nd or 3rd+prospect.

CBJ trade - Domi's playing an ok year. I think Engvall+conditional 2nd that turns into a first if Leafs reach the Eastern conference finals or something like that.

VAN trade - Miller's cost is going to be insane. Niemelä, Robertson, Hirvonen, 1st might be all be in play...once again, don't think it's going to be worth it for the Leafs.

I agree with pretty much everything you said but the Vancouver one. I think jt Miller will cost a first and a second and a prospect plus a current at most ( the current player and second for holding 50%). The return for Jack eichel was a first, second, current player (tuch) and a prospect ( kreps). There shouldn't be anyway jt Miller cost more then eichel but then again I could see a team paying it.

Wait, did Giroux mention he'd waive for STL?

As a less preferable alternative, but yes

Wow, do you know of a link for that, by any chance? I cannot seem to find one. Not doubting you, just curious. He's definitely not a player they need, so it's kinda odd.

The rumours are Giroux would waive for COL, STL, MIN but also can stay local and possibly waive for NYR or BOS, but prefers west. So, Toronto isn;t completely out of the picture.

The suspected price with retention is a good to top prospect, a 1st, a 3rd, and take back a salary: For toronto I would expect Abramov (arguably their 3rd best forward prospect), a 1st, a 3rd and probably not Ritchie, but a Mikheyev or Engvall?

imo it would take at least a first for the isles to move mayfield, but they can take on a cap dump in the return, maybe ritchie or holl, since that's how the d market is panning out with the savard deal and seemingly with chiarot. just don't see it happening for less since he has another year and they don't have a prospect to take his place.

The defence market has all non leaf defenceman being worth 1st+ but all leaf players are cap dumps worth nothing. Even defenceman who have been much worse than what the Leafs have. The market is nonsense.

That's not really taking back salary that's getting good players on top of the prospect and picks. Any big move TO makes will include Ritchie because it has to.

For Giroux, Risto, and MacEwen it would be a costly price. Probably 2 firsts, Amirov, Robertson, Ritchie, and another contract you want to dump, maybe Mrazek

the market might be nonsense but if chiarot has 12 suitors interested in giving up a first, the isles aren’t moving mayfield without getting one since he’s got more term on a CHEAP deal and is better than him. that may not be how others value him but he’s got another year and they have no depth at that spot, they’re in no rush to move him

Wow, do you know of a link for that, by any chance? I cannot seem to find one. Not doubting you, just curious. He's definitely not a player they need, so it's kinda odd.

              It's from dater on twitter:

"I'm told that Claude Giroux has made it known to Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher that Colorado is where he wants to go. If somehow that doesn't work out, Minnesota or St. Louis would be acceptable alternatives @ColHockeyNow"

Coolio, thanks. Interesting that he only picks Central teams.

Mayfield has no future with the isles and they’re not making the playoffs this season, so I would think they are going to look to move Mayfield. They won’t sell low , but if a team offers a 2nd + prospect he’s gone

Well I based my comment on this as it seems Trotz consider him to be a first choice D to play with Pelech. I suppose he appreciates what he brings on ice.

Yeah I know he likes Mayfield, Leddy was arguably his favorite D man and he was traded last offseason. Dobson is not going to be cheap this offseason and Pulocks new contract kicks in. Mayfield is one of their few tradable assets that can bring back significant value, this is a business at the end of the day.
