If Scheifele was a bit younger or had more term, I probably give up Pinto. But right now, I wouldn’t

Fairly certain any team calling for Scheifele is looking to fill that top 6 center role, if they had an available "young ready now" 2C they wouldn't be calling at all

Well teams like New Jersey for example, they got two young centers in Hughs and Hischer then other guys like Zacha and Mercier. They have a lot of talent and guys who can play center but seems like possible Scheifle could make them better

Winnipeg is the team adding rather significantly for either of Hughes or Hischier IMO. Furthermore as you said, they already have the center depth, so Scheifele is likely a very low priority target for them. Especially since he doesn't fit their window at all

Boston might be an option. Even if they can bring Bergeron back, they're in the market for a 2C upgrade.
Not sure if there's a trade fit, but I'd put them on the list of teams to talk to.

I feel like Detroit would be a good fit even though some of the fans on here don't agree. I would be sending Pius Suter back their way plus more. Suter can fill that 2C role and is young. Scheifele would be an upgrade in my opinion for Detroit.

Suter isn't that player I see jets want

I'm definitely in the minority of Devils fans here but I'd swap Hischier for Scheifele if they added.

Scheifele + 23 1st + Vesalinen would probably do it for me.

But do you become a cup contender in the next 2 years? Probably not. So that Hischier swap pretty quickly backfires

Well Pius alone isnt gonna sniff Scheifele so with the futures you are spending you have to make the next 2 years count. While I think Detroit may be able to compete for a playoff spot in the next 2 years they very likely aren't getting close to the finals before Scheifele's contract ends

Well teams like New Jersey for example, they got two young centers in Hughs and Hischer then other guys like Zacha and Mercier. They have a lot of talent and guys who can play center but seems like possible Scheifle could make them better

Problem is we have other needs to fill (Goalie being first priority...then maybe d-man...then maybe winger...)

Blackwood not the guy now? Figured it was just a rough season

He is 25, which in goalie years is like 21. So way early to say.
But he did not come prepared for this season. He re-injured his foot...and played hurt without saying he was hurting.
Can't blame him for injury, but he didn't prepare himself health-wise, did not show maturity when he wasn't 100%.
Hopefully it becomes a learning experience...but put us bad spot two years in a row (especially after Crawford retired, Bernier went down).
Now goaltending is by far our weakest link.

Its one of those things where fans will be more more forgiving than a GM will be.

                  He still could be
                  Injuries derailed this season
I still have confidence in his, especially with the Devils defense improving in the future
