My Flyers trade deadline for 21-22

Created by: Mark_Ramos
Team: 2021-22 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 26, 2022
Published: Feb. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Here's what I was thinking for Philadelphia's TDL if they decide to go full sell mode this March. Not sure if every trade makes sense for the buying teams, but would love to hear opinions from those who know those teams best! The Flyers lineup reflects what the team would look like the rest of the season. Couturier and Ellis would remain on IR, with Hayes, Farabee and Allison returning to finish up the year. Obviously in this scenario, Philly would gain draft capital and cap space to use in off-season.

The Blues have less then no use or cap for Risto, and that ask is nuts anyway. Gonna need to send him elsewhere.

Believe that Toronto's 2023 third round pick is tentatively committed to the Arizona deal.

Yea, a 1st is a tough sell for a player like Risto. Not even sure if he's the type of D the Blues need, but Flyers would be in a position to eat a chunk of his salary too.

THe MTL trade is laughable, they get absolutly no value in a JVR when they are rebuilding and a Frost that is an uncertain prospect

Well, the value would be that he's signed for less term. In theory, MTL could buy JVR out this summer and use the cap space on a better player if they so choose. Frost hasn't fit in Philly, but he's still a talented kid. He's an uncertain prospect? I'd say most prospects are uncertainties.

Why are the Blues paying a first for someone who would play on their third pairing. We already have Parayko and Faulk on the right side and Bortuzzo is fine as a third pairing defensemen. We need a LHD which is why all the rumors have us going after a LHD. Risto is not a need for us

He isn't at all what they need. Parayko and Faulk already eat up like 47 RD minutes, and then Bortuzzo takes rest, including lots of PK minutes. There are no RD minutes to be had there. If anything, they'd want a chance suppression LD who is an upgrade.

Didn't know that. Understood. Didn't know that the Blues were in the LHD market.

for $800 PHI can prob get four signed action photos of Auston Matthews. To hang in the locker room.

Unless Brassard is a top 6 LW or a top 4 Dman, Canes have no need nor want for him. Canes will just keep their 3rd rounder.

Thanks. Didn't realize they were looking for another top6 or top4.

I don't think Dallas is really in any position to buy at this point. If they go on a hot streak maybe but not now plus that ask for Giroux is quite steep. I think he could go for a 1st easy but to add Gurianov in there as well doesn't make sense for Dallas.

He's a soon to be 23 y.o. center still not able to compete at the NHL level. Even Poehling showed more to this day. Smells like a bust. That’s what he means by uncertain.

I could get behind that. Byron would need retained salary though, no?

He's been able to play at the NHL level this year and could have last year had it not been for a shoulder injury. He's lost some developmental time because of that and other injuries. Could be a bust, sure. I think a change of scenery is more likely though, having seen him play for the Flyers and in the AHL over the last couple of seasons.
