Thats likely too much for Scheifele and Rangers fans will say 'no way Jose!

I think we'll be stuck with Schmidt.

Could get a better pick then that for DeMelo.

Would be great to get that Jiricek kid in the draft.

Good call about us Rangers fans. That’s the same, if not more than what Vegas gave up for Eichel.

    Completely agree about DeMelo too.

I definitely wouldn’t say WAY more, but you’re correct about the latter.

What about them? Those three for Scheifele? If so, that’s a pretty easy yes.

You are looking more like Lundkvist, kravtsov and/or Chytil and a 1st.

Not enough of a prime piece coming back. Nils is nice but we are flush with offensive defenders. Krav and Chytil haven’t really done much (not discounting their skill) and a late 1st isn’t enough

I wouldn't have any interest in Kakko, so theRangers can keep him, but the rest probably gets the Jets talking. Although with Chevy likely trading to save his job and not fatten draft picks for the next guy, he may prefer a roster player over the 2nd 1st.

What Vegas gave up can't be use as a comparable at all. Scheifele hasn't stated he won't play for the Jets again or requested a trade like Eichel, isn't seriously injured, like Eichel was and his contract is nowhere near as bad as Eichel's.

    - For Scheifele, it’s Schneider or no trade.
    1st+Schneider+Barron/Chytil+

Zero interest in Kravstov and Kakko
    Very little interest in Laf

    - I’d easily take that for Schmidt, but I don’t think we’d get it.
Most I think we get is a 2nd, and that’s likely wishful thinking.
    Maybe Detroit would take him.

    - DeMelo would return a 3rd, maybe more if more than one team was interested.

    - Copp likely returns a 1st+, but I’d settle for a 1st.

    - If we have a shot at Jiricek, I’d be very happy.

I agree with all of this. I like the Rangers deal you have proposed. I think Schneider + Barron + 2022 1st is a nice deal. Rangers fans don't like moving schnieder, but with Trouba and Fox locked up on huge deals, he's expendable. If Jets want to take a chance they can ask for 2023 1st and hope rangers aren't as good next year.

I think we're stuck with schmidt, but that's okay as he's a very serviceable 2nd pairing dman. Just a bit overpaid.

I'm fine with a 3rd for DeMelo as it's what we paid.

Copp hopefully nets a 1st and decent prospect at the TDL. Stastny could be moved for a 3rd, or 2nd if moved to a team like MIN.

Getting Jiricek at 12 would be ridiculous. Hopefully, Jets get a pick between 7-11. A lottery pick would be nice though.

Eichel bad contract? I’d literally rather have his than Scheifele’s. -_-

You’d get a haul by trading Mark, but Buffalo and Vegas already set the precedent for trading a superstar in this economy.

Similar production and Scheifele is $3.875 mil cheaper. Eichel's contract definitely isn't good.

If Scifeifele ends up being traded to the rangers i would not be surprised to se Schneider a first and a second/roster player. As much as people have been saying thats to high and then comparing it to the Eichel trade, that trade would have goten way more if he did'nt need a neck surgery that no NHL player has ever done before. also a GM will always overpay for a player if they think they have a chance a the cup which the Rangers certainly do

Yeah that’s a deal that would probably go through. I didn’t mean to sound like Schneider was untouchable in a Scheifele deal if that’s what I sounded like.

I’m still adamant that the Sabres wouldn’t have received more than another 1st if Eichel were healthy though, but that’s not as important to this discussion
