Even though a tough season has likely dropped Olofsson’s value, i don’t see the Sabres “selling low” on him

If we can’t get a 1st, i think he stays here

We have too many forwards already -- note that even without RFA Olofsson, you're scratching two starters (Grundstrom and Lemieux) right now because you've added Crouse in the Chychrun trade, so Olofsson is totally unneeded.

We're light on the Arizona trade. You're taking two regulars out of a lineup that has only 10 NHL players on the 2022-2023 roster right now. So we'd need to add somebody like Grundstrom or Lizotte for numbers and Jordan Spence or Helge Grans on value.

It would cost one of your many RHD to acquire Olofsson. Faber would be a 1 for 1 I'd guess. If its Walker you add a 2nd and something

His RFA rights could be traded for an asset, using him as a rental

"Powerplay only-scoring machine broken-please send top prospect".

Why? What does Olofsson offer that would require a solid prospect in return for him?

Why would we possibly sell him for less?

The fact that he is an RFA. The fact that he has an elite shot. The fact that he is a great skater and playmaker. The fact that he is only 26. Would you like me to list some more?

I mean, there was a player last summer that was traded to the Kings, and the return was a 2nd and a 3rd...and that player had a history of being a much more consistent 2 way player. Players like Olofsson are a dime a dozen.
