Canes aren't giving up that much for a rental that doesn't really fit in their defensive system.

Hard pass by canes. Chatfield on the 3rd pairing might be a better fit than Chariot, and the Canes don’t have to give anything up for him. Chatfield is actually a perfect fit for our system.

Now, if we are talking Chariot over Ian Cole or Brendan Smith, let’s have a conversation.

Not sure what’s funny. Ask Canucks fans if they’d like to have him back. Have you actually watched him play?

Think you’ve made my point for me.

What I said is that Chatfield is a better fit on the 3rd pairing, and if we are talking about Chariot over Ian Cole or Brendan Smith - I can get with that. The original poster said Chariot on the right side instead of Chatfield…which I couldn’t disagree with more.

I guess I could just LOLLL my way through things though.

Using AM example against a 3rd pairing defenseman is an interesting way to make a point. I saw a great NHL defense + a backup goalie make the leafs look silly.

    That much?
Even at the Draft Ryan's value was lowered as unlike Nick he gives up A LOT
Think Poehling but named Suzuki and a couple years younger.
He's even struggling in the AHL unlike Poehling
It would be a F'n Miracle if he turns Pro
He is the Brian to his brothers Joe Sakic

He's a Smooth Skater who can give your 2nd PP a boost maybe due to his playmaking ability
That said he's not a Goal Scoring Threat so until he is Goalie just shut down the player he's passing to
    Poehling atleast scores in bunches
Suzuki's little Brother doesnt even have that

OHL and Covid really screwed his development
He lost 2 seasons almost compared to what his brother saw with his Memorial Cup run
Going to the AHL at 18 hasnt been good for him nor is it for anyone who develops there
Its why most people who want to make it to the NHL full time leave for other leagues
AHL is just where you go to get injured/banged up and you dont learn as much

Could Ryan have been as big as Nick?
    100% yes

Could Nick be where he is today without that Memorial Cup run ?
Nope, We've seen first hand what poor development can cost talent(even if it wasnt by choice with CAR)

    Kravatsov and a conditional 3rd

Like Lias Anderson or Nick Jensen NYR left them mad when they moved on
Not sure if he'll ever return to North America now that he's gone

Given he has stated he wishes to return, I highly doubt that he goes back on his word, especially considering the only way he could win a reasonable living is in NA right now

How long do you think this pissing match will go on?
KHL vs NHL salary he makes more there for a better schedule in Markets the NHL cant compete in
KHL being punished for a Dictator's rule is harsh but they're still beating NHL in every single market but North America even being protested
Its why the KHL was able to hang in so long in Kaprisov negotiations

Even if he returns who would you rather lose?
    Lundkvist and a 4th or Kravatsov and a 3rd?

Either way its found gold for MTL
