Nylander for Girard is fun because it exposes a few Avs fans as extreme homers

Adding Newhook and Liljegren is far too much in Torontos favor.

Nylander for Girard is fair value in my mind. Perhaps slightly tilted in the Avs favor due to Girard's down year with a lack of a decent partner this year. Newhook and Liljegren is laughable though

Top-4 defenseman signed to a long-term team friendly deal. Pretty damn valuable and difficult to come by. Not saying Nylander isn't a great player, but there's a reason we've seen trades like Hall for Larsson and Johanssen for Jones.

All else equal you can make an argument. Girard plays a more premium position, has a better value contract, and has 5 more years remaining on his deal. That carries a lot of value.

I like the idea of sending Colorado a young dman as part of the return. Newhook is a non-starter though. Make it a guy like Olausson and I think it's closer. Still don't think Colorado does it though, as they need Girard more than a winger (even if it's a very good one like here).

No thanks on Mrazek
I know there was a report a little while back that said teams were interested in him, BUT
-he’s continuing to play horrible (just got shelled by Buffalo)
-i don’t think you’ll get a 4th for him, maybe a 7th?
I think you’ll have to pay to get someone to take Mrazek though
And after the game last week where we lit him up,
I highly doubt it’ll be the Sabres

The guy has a .890 save percentage the Sabres can get .895 for 3mil a year less - whatever you think Mrazek is worth then Dell is worth twice that- let me clue you in, Mrazek is worth nothing and so is Dell
