I really like POJ but I’d be willing to bet other teams would pay more for mayfield, whether it be this TDL or the next

People undervalue both PO-J and Poulin.

Poulin and PO-J are two top 100 prospects on any top 100 prospect list out there. Yes Pens organization isnt full of top prospects. But Poulin and PO-J are.

2022 Mckeen hockey - Poulin-#78, PO-J-#91

2022 mid season hockey writers - Poulin-#75, PO-J-#97

Another 2022 top 100 prospects list - Poulin #69. PO-J -#80.

https://hockey1on1.com/the-nhls-top-100-prospects/

You can’t find a top 100 prospects list out there(for the past 2-3 years) that Poulin and PO-J arnt in the top 100. And these arnt my opinions. These are NHL writers/NHL scouts opinions.

In what list?? I posted 3. All 2022. And two mid-season 2023.

I don’t think Mayfeild brings back a top 100 prospect and plus though. That’s what your opinion was. Maybe though, I see a lot of fans interested in their teams GM acquiring Mayfeild on capfriendly. If a fraction of real NHL GMs are interested than ya, he probably does.

Detroit passes, we've no use for Kapanen and Aston-Reese. Make it Pettersson and we accept.

That one is written by a Leafs beat writer though. U notice all the Leafs prospects very highly rated on that list?? And Mckeen is the most up-to-date. It’s updates monthly. But I pay for that site. Mckeen is a hockey scout/NHL draft scout.

Go to Mckeen Hockey. com. You can see the site and how they update top 100 prospects monthly. It’s 50.00 a year. You forget about it once u pay. I like having a place to go to check out up-to-date prospects and draft prospects though.

I don’t think Mayfeild brings back a top 100 prospect plus though. That’s was your opinion.

But you are not apart of the team?? You can’t accept a trade. These are just opinions.

In his opinion they do the deal now. That’s why he posted it. In your opinion they need to a Kappy and a 3rd. That’s fine.

No trade in fair in everyone’s eyes? Real life or fantasy. U ever play fantasy sports? Their is always one person that thinks every trade is unfair. Even NHL GMs have widely different player evals.

I love the Anaheim deal. I think Rakell and Deslauries fit perfectly with the Pens. Especially both being rentals. I would be fine with Legare, a 2nd and 4th.

I love the Arizona deal too. I think if the Pens can move Zucker and a 7th for a high 3rd round pick they do it tomorrow.

I don’t mind the NYI trade. Although I think Pens are ok with Ruhwedel playing 3rd pairing minutes. It’s why they rewarded him this season and extended him. He’s been playing really well this season. And fits perfect with Matheson. A stay-at-home, not flashy D-man, that doesn’t make mistakes.

The only trade that is bad in my opinion is the Detroit deal. I think Pens can get better for Kappy, ZAR and a 4th. Maybe Kappy and ZAR for Name and a 2nd would work imo.

But you can see it on capfriendly. Literally every teams fans have posted a trade trying to acquire Kappy. If a fraction of real life NHL GMs are interested. They wouldn’t have to add. A rental like Name and 2nd would probably be one of the better offers.

Mostly because Detroit has wingers coming out of their ears and with holes at center and down the left side of their defense it doesn't make sense. Plus in Detroit he would't be in the top 6.

Now Namestnikov for Pettersson would work well.

Fans are gonna be surprised I think. With what happend last year with 1st being thrown around for rentals and teams still getting bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs. I don’t think GMs are gonna be throwing them around again.

And Teams are super cap strapped and cap worried nowadays. Maybe when it gets closer to the TD GMs will start panicking but I don’t think so.

I think fans are gonna be disappointed in the returns their rental players bring.

And you can see it even on capfriendly. Literally every teams fans have posted a trade trying to acquire Kappy. If a fraction of real life NHL GMs are interested then he would bring more than a rental and a 2nd.

Is Kappy in the doghouse, yes. But he is undeniably talented. He’s super fast, wicked wrist shot, a decent playermaker, plays physical enough, and a good 200 foot player. It’s why the Pens traded a 15th overall pick and a “B”/“B-“ prospect for him just a year and a half ago.

He’s a .5 -.75 PPG player even playing poorly. That’s a good “floor”. Let him get hot for acouple weeks and he’s a 20 goal scorer again.

Kapanen has hit 20g once in 5 seasons and thats playing on 2 of the best offenses in the league. Since Detroit has a plethora of wingers why would they want Kapanen?

No to the Wings trade. Completely counter productive. We don't need underachieving middle sixers.

He’s also 25. Once in 4 seasons. Namestikov has been once in 9 seasons and is 30 years old.

And not saying Detroit would be interested.

I said with the amount of fans on this site clambering for their team to trade for Kappy. If a fraction of real life GMs are interested and Detroit was one. Name(a rental) and a 2nd would probably be one of the best offers and probably accepted. But the Pens wouldnt have to add.
