go read ben popes latest article on dach I think he nails it, zegras has set unfair expectations for dach who has had nothing go right for him, being thrown into the league playing little minutes rushing him essentially then getting injured at the beginning of last season it shot his confidence we had terrible coaching and development plans for him as well just cause zegras is eating rn dont mean dach wont itll take him longer cause hawks really messed it up with his development give it another year or two hes a better pick rn then some of the other guys that were on the board at 3 such as turcotte, cozens podkolzin etc and i even say hes better then kakko

No-one expected Zegras to go top 10, he was projected to go 10-15 range. Kirby Dach has a great defensive game and has created a lot of offensive oppurtunities but just hasn't finnish on them, Chicago needs to find someone who can work with him and I think him being moved to RW will be better for him. But once he fixes his offensive game I think Dach will be an amazing player.

Meh... not saying I wouldn't love to have Zegras, but we have enough small framed skilled guys. We need more forwards who, like dach, can play a higher level game at both ends of the ice. CHI's D-core and Goaltending are not the problem. The best defensemen in the league will look bad on paper if their forwards can't help defensively. There is no reason to expect more from Dach at this point in his development. And Dach is absolutely better than Kakko.
