Your not getting a 1st for weber. A player has to be activated first to gain cap space from LTIR which hes not. Its over for him. Rangers cant pay another bottom 6 guy 4m+

Well that's simply not true lol, I say there is a very good chance he gets moved at the deadline or more likely, in the summer.

Not opposed to this deal if I'm edmonton. Not giving up a 1st, moving some bad LT money, and making some guys expendable for next yr. (Foegele, Kassian). Plus I can see us not even re-signing ciarot to get the full cap savings needed to swing for the fences for a #1 goalie in the offseason (Jarry, Kuemper, etc.)

That trade would accomplish nothing positive for the Ducks.

If the Ducks do end up selling low on Comtois it would be after next season before they need to resign him

His value wont get any lower between now and then, trading him now would be foolish

Friedmans accuracy on Rumours regarding the Ducks is historically bad, I wish people didnt treat every word out of his mouth as fact, Hes wrong more often than he's right with the Ducks

They trade him after next year if they do at all, his value cant get lower, they have 0 reason to trade him, we've been looking for a player like him since Bobby Ryan was moved

Friedman said the same thing about Terry being traded last year, his accuracy with the Ducks is terrible

Dvorak isn’t a 2C

Webers LTIR appeal does not apply to this season, it would have to be an off-season move. Furthermore, you think that gets you a first? Are you nuts? It’s not positive value at all, but does make him movable.

Okay, I can agree with you there for sure, value would be quite low right now. If there is not fair deal, the Ducks should obviously hold onto him in hopes he can bounce back and if not, like you said maybe next year would make more sense to move him.

If we havent traded guys like Steel, Jones, Mahura, Larsson, etc after disappointing healthy seasons, I dont understand the logic in trading Comtois after a bad half a season that he had major wrist surgery in.

Trading him for a second, or a package like the one here doesnt accomplish anything positive for us.

and for what its worth Dallas Eakins line-up decisions are some of the worst I've seen in 20+ years of watching hockey, for example Derek Grant regularly gets more ice time than 80% of our forwards

Not fully excusing Comers regression but there are some factors that are out of his control at play here

IMO, the most sensible thing is to wait and see what role he plays for the next head coach (fingers crossed!). Like @salzy said, the value can't go down much more than it already has.

Very true, also my bad as I completely forgot that he had wrist surgery earlier this year. That changes my stance a little bit as he could be a very strong "bounce back" candidate next season.

The next few games should give Comtois a chance to get back into the top 6, with Getz and Silfverberg going to IR and Zegras and Lundestrom battling injury as well

I could be wrong but I dont think Verbeek would be that hasty to trade our leading scorer from last year given the circumstances of his regression, and he also just turned 23 this January, Young players go through ups and downs. I would be comfortable betting on Comtois bouncing back with a healthy off-season and new coaching staff in Anaheim

And hes still a RFA when his contract is up, making even less of a reason to trade him

To be fair, if you guys did this deal, Dvorak probably ends up as 1C, because it would make it a heck of a lot harder to re-sign Bergeron tears of joy

That for sure, but even then he'd still probably be our 3C lol. Hypothetically I imagine they'd go something like: Haula - Coyle - Dvoark - Nosek if Bergeron retired and they didn't bring in anyone else.

I don't even want to think about a league without Bergeron. Not a B's fan, but there's not too many players that I would have rather had on my team during his career than Bergeron.

I'm not a big athletes as role models person, but Bergeron is the exception to that. He's as an amazing person off the ice as he is on the ice and the day they retire his number I'll be in the stands, even if it cost me $1,000 to sit in the nose bleed seats.

We'll trade you Sam Steel for Ylonen and your 2022 third. Does that help?
