Now that Colorado has traded Drew Helleson, I can't see them trading their only other high-quality RD prospect.

no need to trade macdermid. they can bury him if need be but hes not a terrible option for a reserve d or fwd.

also oconnor over nak. maybe scratch helm. and jj over murray.

I wouldn’t sleep on Ranta. He is big, fast, has a big shot and his ceiling is legitimately a 30 goal scorer, but he definitely has some flaws.

Keep him! I watch him a few time when he was a U. Minnesota and he doesn’t appeal me at all. He is a Joel Armia 2.0 with less talent but more speed. Like i said MTL aren’t looking to trade Lehkonen and Ranta is absolutely not what Montreal looking for. Helleson would have been probably a players Montreal would have consider. Ranta have too much inconsistencies in is game to be valued as a primary asset. And 30 goal might be a little exaggerated, i think that a third line role is probably as high as he could develop. The Habs also acquired Heineman who got similar skill set and Who is in very high praised from Hugues and Gorton. So Ranta would make the cut for all those reason. If they trade Lehkonen the return will likely be a first round pick or a very good prospect and later pick. Thats what it will take, a offer that as a GM you can’t refuse.

30 goals for Ranta is probably pretty optimistic lol

In this market, Lehkonen isn't getting a high end return

What is so hard to understand. The team that want to acquired him will have to pay the price that Montreal as established. They don’t shop him, they don’t need to trade him and they won’t accept anything less then a huge haul. No mather what you think is value at. And in this market he is value as high as Montreal set the market. Hugues already come on publicly stated that he wasn’t shopping Lehkonen but is a team would call with a serious offer he would listen. So in this market Lehkonen is worth what Hugues ask non less.

I’m talking ceiling. If the guy could put it together hockey iq wise he’s a beast, but I don’t know if he ever does.
