The value is probably there but I think if you have a chance at a #1 centre in the draft, you take it. Don't over think it.

And just for a Public Relations POV, you don't trade the 1st overall. Bad enough in the 40 years ago, the Habs took Wickenhauser at # 1, not Denis Savard.

Jackets probably pass as we have a few holes to fill and the top 10ish is kinda open after the first tier of 3-4 skaters.

Montreal shouldn’t do it either. Chance to draft a top line center. They should take that every day of the week.

Who would be your pick around 7 & 10 ? Nemec and/or Jiricek if one of them is there at 7
Who for 10 ?

If one of the right shot guys are there we 100% take them as we only have 2 in the org. As for the 10 spot we would probably take a center or a bigger winger with scoring touch. Geekie comes to mind but may be a stretch at 10.

If Lambert is there at 10 you take him or even trade up to take him. I think Lambert will turn into a very good center.

If Montreal is 1OA, they pick Wright. If they aren't, I'd be okay with trading down with Columbus.
Select a RHD with the higher pick and take a C with the next pick (maybe Geekie).
Montreal probably adds a pick to make it happen with 2OA.

While both teams need high end talent, 2OA is too high to pick a RHD for Montreal, and we'll still end up with a solid C prospect besides.
