Why? Morgan is nothing more than a depth forward and Driedger has been equally as bad as Mrazek and has less track record in his career.

They take the contract of Mrazek and they retain half of Driedgers contract, we're actually bringing in value instead of just dumping Mrazek

Are we though. Driedger plays under a very good defence and still sucks. We are absolutely still dumping salary and paying for another goalie who could easily be just as bad as Mrazek has been.

Why does Florida needing to move cap space cost them nothing and they get a pick back, but for Toronto it cost them a 1st to move less of a cap hit and even take salary and a cap dump back? Makes absolutely no sense. This is such an up and down post with no consistency to it

Seattles defence is not really good. Have you seen how slow it is? They have Larsson, Soucy, and Oleksiak that are all slow! Dunn is the only fast one, and Fleury, Borgen is okay with speed. They need to upgrade their top 4 to be faster. In my opinion, their defence is not good. Driedger, and Grubauer have just shown how well they play behind great defence. If you want them to play well again, they need to upgrade.

Their underlying numbers are very good. Their problem has been goaltending. It was near the worst in the league all season. Not defensive issues. Their goalies are near the bottom of goals against vs expected

Bruins decline. Only trading Beecher for a true impact player.

I still believe they need a top 4 fast defence man. Their defence is too slow in my opinion. You see fast guys like McDavid, Larkin, Barzal etc getting around that defence all the time. But yes, their goaltending has sucked. They have really shown what they are capable of when they have a fast defence, and when they have a slow defence.

I think the Isles would have to take that. That will free up a lot of space in 2023 when Barzal and Wahlstrom are up and Soucy would be a really nice add on defense

Had they had some saves this season they would have been right in the thick of a playoff run.

Definitely. I think a little better drafting at the expansion draft would’ve helped too. Taking Kahkonen, or Vanecek instead of signing Grubauer, and taking Johansen, Duchene, or JVR instead of signing Schwartz would have been beneficial. Getting one of Tyson Barrie, or John Klingberg in the off-season could help with the scoring, and speed. Both of them have been working on their defence too. Some of the picks I believe were alright, but if they took on some cap, they could be better right now.

You may not, but GMs would want him.

I highly doubt it. He's very limited in what he brings to the table. You can find far better value than you get with him. Defensively he's one of the worst defenceman in hockey and his PP usefulness is vastly over shadowed by his deficiencies.

He’s not one of the worst defence men in the NHL defensively. Yes, he’s not the best, but he’s actually gotten better. He can make that defence core better in the long run. Again, they need some speed, there, and Barrie can provide many things for them. Put him with Oleksiak, and I think that could be a good pairing.

This is self serving discussion. A Oilers fan dreaming of getting a sizeable return for a player they know isn't worth keeping around. The Oilers defence isn't very good and he's expendable.

I think it's Hornqvist and a 4th (or better) to the Kraken with Florida getting back the elusive Future Considerations - they've gotta pay up to move cap!

Isles take that. Donskoi is less of a hit than Bailey and comes off the cap quicker, Soucy fills a need at LD2, and they don't give up anything crazy. I think Seattle could probably hold Lou up for a little more on this deal, honestly.
