Detroit aren't trading for Tatar.
Calgary are not taking that much salary back for Mangiapane, not that that's fair value for him to begin with.

Devils lose that Rangers trade. Bratt is a top 30 winger with a ton more room to grow. I think he's already a much better player than what Lafreniere will ever be.
Trade is made even worse with adding Foote and Smith on top of that.

Nichushkin is a good signing tho so it's not all bad.

If- as you say- they can't reach potential...then why would you look to move a young ppg player in a deal to get both?

because i did not say that =) i say they still not reach potential, so they are better choise for team wich buiding future, rangers are good now

But inevitably, the guys like Kreider, Panarin, and Zib will take a step back...hope is by that time guys like Kakko, and LaF blossom so that they can carry the team ...with guys like Korczak, Othmann, and Cuyle right behind them. If Drury plays his cards right- this team is set up for the short term and a few more years further...and if he remains stingy trading draft picks- it can also probably be extended into the long term
