Hey, quick question -- what are we going to do with undrafted free agents? I would want to sign Darren Raddysh if possible, but since he can only get $925K for two years I believe and nobody has rights to him, how would we decide who signs him?

I could be wrong so don't quote me, but I think as Rassysh was an undrafted player who later signed (or will sign) an ELC, he would become a free agent for teams to bid on. Not sure who the home team would be tho in this scenario

That's what the whole waiver priority for tie-breakers is intended to solve. Everyone who wants such a player will have the same bid, so it would be in waiver order and depend on who was willing to "spend" their waiver priority to claim that player. Stay tuned on UFA discussion, I'll be working on it some more in the next couple of days.

So in doing some top notch detective work I've found that Boston originally traded David Backes w 2 mil in retained salary. I got him from San Jose w 2 mil in retained salary. So logically SJ should only have to retain 1 million and I'd get Backes at 3mil per season, agreed?

Lmao I did that deal in Boston. There was no retained salary on Backes

Not sure what you are referring to, but it sounds like he's had $4M retained in total, why would it be $3M now?

Backes didn't have any retention from BOS. Only retention was from SJ at 2 million. So Backes should be a 4 M right now, which he is

There was no retention by Boston when they traded Backes to San Jose. Not sure why the current Boston team is showing there is.

I've told Math to edit his trade. No clue why he did the trade with Florida (it's with SJ) or where the retention is coming from

It's because NBC or Brekel Processed the trade with Florida (Bjugstad) and put "Trade made with San Jose" in the additional details, instead of making the trade with San Jose and then picking up Bjugstad from Florida in a separate transaction.
