I like buying draft publications before the draft and those 2 picks you mentioned that Murray screwed up would have been my picks. What do we know? We do not see the players. My son and I went to the All American Prospect game and we thought Luke Kunin was outstanding, but could not find ONE WORD about him, he was selected 15th OA in the 2016 draft. I say Murray buggered as the very next GM took Draisaitl and Sergachev, both proved to be much better selections. If they were passed over for three or even two rounds, my assessment of Murray would be different. If I wanted to be nasty, I could include DeBrincat who was taken one round after the pick Murray traded away to move up to get Asplund, but I wont as many GM's missed on him. Murray wanted to get bigger and faster which didn't describe Reinhart LOL and that's no offense to Sam. Murray depleted the D and then drafts a forward in a draft that was extra deep in D-men. SMFH OMW, I completely agree here
I think management is building from the back on out. They have 3 goalie prospects in UPL, Portillo and Levi...hopefully one takes charge. We have 4 good to excellent young D in Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson and Jokiharju. Mattering what Johnson does, if he goes back to school then I trade his rights, if Adams goes after Gibson in the summer I think Portillo would be used in the trade, forgot where I read it but I think Adams was frustrated that Portillo didn't sign.
Only way I see Adams trading any of the forward prospects he has drafted in the last 2 years is if he didn't like how they progressed from when they were drafted...Adams has patience compared to prior GM's that were here.
It appears Kim and Terry have allowed him to build through the draft.
Jeramiah Crowe sat at the draft table for the first time in 2020, IMO that is all the evidence I need to presume he is the architect behind the selections.

Before Karmanos joined the team, Adams was bumbling his way through his first 6 months as GM and other GM's knew they could take advantage of him.
He allowed Larsson to walk and made terrible TDL deals.
The free agents he signed the first year were terrible, for the Sabres and Rochester who missed the playoffs for the first time in three year.
After Jason becomes "Associate Manager" the returns from the trades became great.
I have a different view of Adams than most.
I guess I will give him credit for recognizing his short comings by hiring Karmanos and getting Crowe to the draft table.

Bottom line, I am really excited as I said above. 14-8-3 Since March first says it all.
